THE OPPORTUNITY
The Portfolio Operations Associate is expected to independently monitor the receipt and performance of all insurances associated with the loan portfolio. This includes but is not limited to Property (Commercial and Residential), Master Condo, Business Personal Property, Liability, Liquor Liability, Professional Liability, Business Interruption, Worker’s Compensation, Life, Errors & Omissions, Disability, and Pollution Insurances. The individual will identify deviations from the agreed upon coverages and take the appropriate remedial steps. The Portfolio Operations Associate will work closely with a Loan Officer to assess client and collateral risk on the loan portfolio, which consists of SBA 7a, 504, and Express loan programs as well as conventional commercial loans. Additionally, the individual will maintain accurate data on all physical loan files. Perform and complete various projects and assignments as needed. Performs all duties in accordance with the Company’s policies and procedures, all U.S. state and federal laws and regulations, wherein the Company operates.
HOW YOU’LL MAKE A DIFFERENCE
+ Create insurance ticklers for all loans in the portfolio as required.
+ Send notification to guarantors and insurance agents requesting updated insurance information.
+ Directly contact guarantors and insurance agents in order to obtain current insurance information.
+ Accept insurance certificates through mail, e-mail, fax, etc.
+ Evaluate and process insurance certificates in a timely manner.
+ Obtain proper assignment language through insurance agents and agencies.
+ Negotiate proper coverages with guarantors, and insurance agents.
+ Obtain force placed insurance coverages when required and where available.
+ Update the loan system with accurate and up to date insurance information.
+ Evaluate and create ticklers for acquired portfolios.
+ Access fees and charges to a loan for force placed insurance or other items as needed.
+ Process and administer insurance claims according to bank policies and procedures.
+ Save insurance certificates and related information to the document management system.
+ Inform loan officers of changes to collateral, business status, or other items as discovered.
+ Provide accurate information to loan officers as required to maintain current risk assessments.
+ Prepare weekly reports and summaries to keep management informed of insurance deficiencies and variances.
+ Place physical loan files and records in storage and maintain accurate records of all loan files.
+ Retrieve physical loan files and ship them to various locations as needed.
+ Create property tax ticklers for all loans in the portfolio as required.
+ Directly contact property counties to determine property tax status.
+ Work with borrower to obtain payment data and cure delinquencies as needed.
+ Inform loan officers of needed changes to loan structure or other items as discovered.
+ Provide accurate tax information to loan officers as required to maintain current risk assessments.
+ Prepare monthly reports and summaries to inform management of tax delinquencies.
+ Keep an active record of data destruction dates in order to effectively manage storage needs.
+ Maintain a complete understanding of SBA SOPs related to insurance, taxes, financials, etc. requirements.
+ Understand the basic requirements related to SBA liquidations.
+ Maintain insurances, taxes, financials, etc. so that SBA guarantees are fully honored.
+ Prepare for and participate in multiple audits from internal, external and regulatory groups.
+ Complete NAGGL or other SBA related training programs as recommended by manager.
+ Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed, including special projects.

The employee shall comply with occupational safety and health standards and all rules, regulations and orders issued pursuant to the OSHA Act of 1970, which are applicable to one’s own actions and conduct.
+ Performs other duties and projects as assigned.
WHAT YOU’LL BRING
+ Ability to communicate (orally and in writing) in a professional manner when dealing with clients, peers, and company contacts
+ Advanced Excel spreadsheet skills are required in order to perform essential functions listed above
+ General understanding of corporate finance and accounting concepts
+ Ability to work independently and collaboratively
+ Ability to interface effectively and professionally with senior level management
+ Ability to multi-task several projects at once
+ Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
+ Excellent organizational and time management skills
+ Proven ability to use Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, MS Word, and PowerPoint)
+ Required:
+ Minimum two or more years’ lending/insurance experience
+ High School Diploma or equivalent
+ Preferred:
+ SBA lending experience
+ Associate's degree or higher

SALARY RANGE
The base salary ultimately offered is determined through a review of education, industry experience, training, knowledge, skills, abilities of the applicant in alignment with market data and other factors.
