Job Title: Forklift Operator
Job Description
As a Forklift Operator, you will report to your designated work area ready for duty, ensuring the safe and efficient operation of powered industrial equipment. You will be responsible for maintaining cleanliness and sanitation standards as outlined in the Master Sanitation Schedule, and adhering to all safety and regulatory guidelines.
Responsibilities
+ Attend and successfully complete the Forklift Operator’s Course before operating any forklift on the property.
+ Follow all Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), Preventive Controls Rules, and Occupational Safety Rules.
+ Coordinate with the Dock Supervisor to ensure all products are accounted for with proper traceability.
+ Assist in documenting transfers from the Shelling Plant.
+ Support the Shipping Manager in maintenance tasks when necessary.
+ Ensure products are not at risk of cross-contamination with allergens before loading or unloading.
+ Adhere to Personal Protective Equipment (PPEs) guidelines.
+ Maintain forklifts in a clean and sanitary condition according to the Master Sanitation Schedule.
+ Fill out Forklift Daily Logs to ensure equipment is in good running order.
+ Maintain the Cold Storage areas in accordance with the Safe Food Plan, Master Sanitation Schedule, and Preventive Control Rules.
+ Maintain wall clearances of 18 inches to prevent potential pest infestations.
+ Assist the Shipping Manager in efficient and cost-effective shipping of finished products to customers.
+ Follow all specific customer shipping instructions.
+ Load trailers in compliance with legal weight requirements.
+ Report, document, and correct any discrepancies to customer or regulatory guidelines.
+ Operate all forklifts, man-lifts, and scissor-lifts in accordance with safety policies.
+ Attend a refresher Forklift Operator Course every two years.
+ Perform additional duties as assigned, including those not specifically outlined in the job description.
Essential Skills
+ Forklift operation experience ranging from 0-5 years for Lift Truck Operator I, 5-9 years for Lift Truck Operator II, and 10+ years for Lift Truck Operator III.
+ High School diploma or GED required.
+ Understanding of production and plant processes.
+ Ability to follow written and oral instructions.
+ Capability to work in a team environment.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Forklift experience preferred.
+ Ability to work shifts, including late or early hours, weekends, and overtime if necessary.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Smithville, Georgia.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $15.00 - $20.00/hr.
