_Fully Qualified Electrician position requires at least one year of experience along with CDL and Hazmat endorsement or the ability to obtain both are required\. Must possess a valid motor vehicle operator's license\. Must possess or be able to obtain a valid Commercial Driver's License \(CDL\)\._
_THIS IS A FULLY QUALIFIED ELECTRICIAN POSITION:_

_Reliability Shift Electrician Duties Include:_
_Under general supervision, inspects, maintains repairs and operates substations, and does such similar work in the electric system, performing such duties as:_
_Performing the duties included in the Time Merit Progression Program for Electrician\._
_Essential Functions:_
+ _Repairing and maintaining circuit breakers, switchgear, transformers, and similar equipment, including the replacing of sub\-assemblies;_
+ _Installing circuit breakers, switchgear, transformers, and similar equipment as directed;_
+ _Making all electrical tests using standard test equipment, including but not limited to carrier and_
+ _transfer tripping equipment testing and battery testing;_
+ _Performing switching operation involving any voltage;_
+ _Is thoroughly familiar with switching and tagging procedures, switchboard facilities, and related apparatus in area of normal assignment;_
+ _Operating substations and network equipment;_
+ _Checking, inspecting, and testing underground system and maintaining equipment;_
+ _Reading and interpreting wiring diagrams, blueprints, etc\.;_
+ _Making repairs to tools and work equipment;_
+ _Recognizing, correcting if possible, and reporting abnormal conditions that develop during the progress of the work;_
+ _Obtaining miscellaneous items from suppliers;_
+ _Repairs or replaces insulators, conductors, transformers, fuses, disconnects and lighting arresters, etc\., associated with normal duties;_
+ _Makes standard types of transformer connection;_
+ _Assembles, disassembles, and maintains major rotating equipment such as motors, generators, etc\., as required by normal assignment;_
+ _Works on live electrical conductors using proper tools and protective equipment;_
+ _Installs and repairs switchboard wiring and controls, major devices and equipment, complicated wiring, relaying and control circuits, using plans and drawings as required by normal assignment;_
+ _Tests insulators on substation structures Electrical Insulation Systems, Electrical Equipment_
+ _Operating Parameters, and Distribution System Protective Relays and Devices as required by normal assignment;_
+ _Assembles, disassembles, and rebuilds power circuit breakers, voltage regulators, power transformers, distribution transformers, etc\., as required within normal assignment; Tests with meggers, Ohmmeters, voltmeters, ammeters, metester and similar instruments and interprets results; Testing Contact Resistance for breakers and connections using a DLRO \(Ductor\); Makes electrical connections on copper or aluminum cable and bus, or between dissimilar materials;_
+ _Installs all types of electrical bus work as required by normal assignment;_
+ _Performs routine inspection, maintenance and adjustments on electrical equipment following manufacturer’s instructions and/or Company procedures;_
+ _Secondary and primary cable testing;_
+ _Recloser programming and network testing;_
+ _Makes simple electrical calculations and measurements;_
+ _Bend and installs conduit;_
+ _Performs simple rigging;_
+ _Has a working knowledge of insulating oils and SF6 gas applications and uses, including storage,_
+ _clean\-up, filtering and testing;_
+ _Cleans and paints structures, equipment, and devices;_
+ _Operates motor vehicles safely in the performance of required duties;_
+ _Operating a motor vehicle and associated equipment;_
+ _Performs work in a clean and neat manner and exercises care to prevent damage to Company or customer’s property;_
+ _Provide substation escort for nonqualified individuals;_
+ _Keeping the substation buildings and grounds in good order, including minor repairs and snow removal;_
+ _Works either indoors or outdoors as required, and is subject to overtime work;_
+ _May have storm restoration and emergency assignments\._
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
+ **High school diploma or equivalent\.**
+ **It is preferred that individuals hold a valid Commercial driver’s license \(CDL\) and satisfactory clean driving record** **, but are required to have the ability** **to acquire and/or maintain a Commercial Driver’s License \(CDL\)** **within 6 months of hire\.**
+ **Must be physically able to perform the “essential duties” of the Electrician position, as described above\.**
+ **Must be able to effectively interact, communicate, and direct the work of other co\-workers\.**
+ **Candidates must also possess an E1 or E2 license or have successfully completed the TMP \(time merit progression\) for electrician\.**
+ **Must be available to perform overtime and emergency work as required and live within one hour of the reporting location**
+ **Must successfully pass the Edison Electric Institute Construction and Skilled Trades \(CAST\) Test, which is a requirement to be selected for this position\. _Candidates may need to take and must successfully pass the Construction and Skilled Trades Test \(CAST\) Test\._
_Bargaining unit employees under the TEAL contract will be given first consideration\._
RETENTION:
Reliability Shift Electrician organization will be retained for a period of two \(2\) years and will not be entitled to apply for posted job openings or change divisions during the retention period\.
