Job Title: Assembly Technician I
Job Description
Join our dynamic team as an Assembly Technician I on the first shift, working from 6:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday to Thursday. This role involves performing a variety of repetitive processes using varied machines and hand tools to complete the assembly and sub-assembly of component parts.
Responsibilities
+ Work primarily in the Bundle Department, setting up baffles into fixtures according to work orders.
+ Measure distances using calipers and use a glue gun as required.
+ Insert cores into the casting and prepare for pinning and pressing processes.
+ Float between departments, including the Build and Kitting areas.
+ Prepare furniture kits following pick instructions and pack parts into boxes for shipment.
+ Inspect painted parts for scratches and impairments.
+ Thread knobs on certain pieces and pack them with instruction booklets and other components.
+ Assemble cabinet units when necessary.
+ Build larger parts for Caterpillar, including cooling fans used in Earth Moving equipment, using blueprints and torque wrenches.
+ Maintain records relating to production, downtime, quality, and maintenance.
+ Ensure quality standards are met through visual inspection and measuring devices.
+ Perform necessary computer transactions in various applications.
+ Keep work area, equipment, and machines clean and orderly.
+ Perform miscellaneous job assignments and related functions as directed.
Essential Skills
+ Mechanically inclined with the ability to use power tools.
+ Strong attention to detail with 2 years of hands-on experience.
+ Ability to read and follow work instructions.
+ Hand dexterity and the ability to work with both hands.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ High school diploma or GED.
+ Basic arithmetic skills, including MDAS and decimals.
+ Ability to comprehend work orders at an 8th-grade reading level.
+ Safety-conscious with a willingness to cross-train.
+ Direct manufacturing assembly experience is a plus.

Work Environment
Work in a clean, climate-controlled facility on the first shift from Monday to Thursday. The assembly cells have been recently upgraded with significant investments to ensure ergonomic safety and process consistency. Join a team of 3 to 6 individuals within a facility housing over 75 employees. Dress code requires steel toe boots, long work pants, safety glasses, and a safety vest. The facility is very ergonomic-conscious, boasting over five years without a work loss injury.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of York, Pennsylvania.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $18.75 - $18.75/hr.
