    Minimum qualifications:

    + Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

    + 5 years of experience in microprocessor architecture, microarchitecture, performance, or advanced CPU design.

    + Experience in CPU architecture, C/C++, and scripting languages (e.g., Python).

    + Experience in performance modeling, analysis, correlation, and workload characterization.

    Preferred qualifications:

    + Master's degree or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science, or a related technical field.

    + Experience in microprocessor instruction set architecture (e.g., ARM, RISC-V, x86).

    + Experience in CPU/Machine Learning (ML) microarchitecture exploration, performance model development, performance analysis, performance correlation, or workload characterization.

    + Experience with system software components, such as Linux, drivers, and runtime.

    In this role, you will be the contributor to improve processor instruction set architecture, to develop microarchitecture features, and to deliver Google’s advanced System on a chip (SoC) products. You will have the opportunity to collaborate in Google’s Android applications and Google’s Artificial Intelligence (AI) teams to conduct application and benchmark performance analysis and to project their performance at various design phases. You will work with engineers in power, thermal, security, and physical design teams to plan the central processing unit (CPU) subsystem configuration and features.

    The US base salary range for this full-time position is $156,000-$229,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.     + Develop and modify a performance model for performance analysis and microarchitecture study, and evaluate ARM’s architecture features from architecture and performance angles.

    + Define and write central processing unit (CPU) subsystem architecture specifications.

    + Collaborate with Register-Transfer Level (RTL), design verification, and physical design teams to develop a performance and efficient CPU implementation.

    + Perform performance correlation between the performance model and RTL implementation, including micro-benchmark development and pre-silicon and post-silicon performance bug triage.
