    Entry Level Grinder/Shop Labor

     

    Sultan, WA

    Job Description

    This role involves performing general production labor tasks, including rough grinding work. The position requires good hand-eye coordination and the ability to follow basic written instructions and simple diagrams. With readily available supervision, you will use rotary or belt sanding tools to rough grind castings, remove burrs, or finish weld seams. The job may include inspecting parts for voids in welds or castings. The work typically requires hearing protection and other personal protective equipment and may be repetitive in nature.

    Responsibilities

    + Grind castings to remove excess material within assigned time and productivity requirements, as established for each product.

    + Inspect castings for defects.

    + Use jigs or fixtures to check castings when appropriate.

    + Appropriately place castings in box or pallet.

    + Meet all company work schedule and attendance expectations and perform within the physical and environmental demands of the job.

    Essential Skills

    + Experience with hand and power tools, including grinders.

    + Proficiency in deburring, grinding, and polishing.

    + Experience in production and inspection.

    + Basic carpentry skills.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + Ability to perform tasks within the allowable time set by the company.

    + Strong written and oral communication skills.

    + Ability to read and write.

    + Basic computer skills and experience.

    + Ability to work in a team.

    + 3+ months of experience in a production or manufacturing role.

    Work Environment

     

    You will be working in a large foundry with approximately 75 other workers. The job involves standing most of the day and performing repetitive grinding tasks. Personal protective equipment such as hearing protection is required.

    The pay range for this position is $40560.00 - $51771.00/yr.
