Job Title: Saw Operator
Job Description
We are seeking a skilled Saw Operator to join our team, primarily on the 1st shift from 5am to 3pm, Monday to Thursday, with additional hours on Friday and Saturday as needed. The shift start time can be flexible, ranging from 1am to 5am, accommodating various schedules. This position requires precision in cutting stock at exact lengths using tape measures and operating saws such as band or circular saws. You will work with materials up to 36 inches in diameter, which may be intimidating if you are not accustomed to handling large materials. The role involves interpreting blueprints and shop drawings to determine the size and shape of the final block that will be cut from raw materials.
Responsibilities
+ Read tape measures to cut stock at precise lengths (1/16th inch).
+ Operate saws, including band and circular saws.
+ Cut various sizes of stock up to 36 inches in diameter.
+ Interpret blueprints and shop drawings for cutting requirements.
+ Maximize material usage by planning cuts effectively.
+ Operate machinery according to training and documentation.
+ Adjust machine controls to maintain proper part sizes.
+ Install saw blades and ensure proper guard placement.
+ Set up saw operations using appropriate tools.
+ Load and unload parts being cut.
+ Adjust machine to produce parts to precise sizes and shapes.
Essential Skills
+ Experience in machine operating.
+ Proficiency in reading tape measures.
+ Heavy manufacturing experience.
+ Basic math skills, including calculating cuts for raw material.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Prior saw experience is a plus.
+ Ability to add fractions is essential.
+ No certifications required.

Work Environment
You will work in a graphite machine shop characterized by a dirty and potentially dusty environment. Conditions may be cold in the winter and hot in the summer. The role involves collaboration in a team environment with typically five employees working in the department. Positions are currently open on the 2nd shift, with opportunities to transfer to the 1st shift as needs arise. The company provides uniforms and showers for those who wish to clean up after work.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Denver, Pennsylvania.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $17.00 - $19.00/hr.
