Job Description
Under general supervision, the Assembler I is responsible for assembling components, including sub-assemblies, manual components, and electrical components, to contribute to the completion of a variety of products. The role requires adherence to safety, quality, and quantity standards while following directions and blueprints to meet product specifications.
Responsibilities
+ Assemble components that may include sub-assemblies, manual components, and electrical components.
+ Adhere to safety, quality, and quantity standards.
+ Follow directions and blueprints to meet product specifications.
+ Carry out verbal and written instructions in English.
+ Participate in workplace organization and follow training procedures, including cross-training and teamwork.
+ Maintain good housekeeping and ergonomic practices.
+ Speak up and address safety and quality issues when they arise.
+ Learn new processes, systems, and equipment.
+ Work effectively in a diverse team setting and resolve conflicts as needed.
Essential Skills
+ Ability to meet work schedule and overtime requirements, including weekends.
+ Proficiency in reading and understanding procedures, safety sheets, instructions, and policies in English.
+ Ability to carry out verbal instructions and communicate verbally in English.
+ Attention to detail and ability to adhere to safety-related issues.
+ Stamina for repetitive tasks and physical demands such as lifting and carrying weights.
+ Teamwork and ability to work in a cross-functional team.
+ Motivation to grow, learn, and progress to the next skill level.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ High school diploma or GED.
+ Experience using hand and power tools to assemble components.
+ Ability to lift/carry 10-50 lbs. frequently and 50-75 lbs. rarely.
+ Prolonged stooping, kneeling, crouching, bending, sitting, standing, and crawling as required by the job.
+ Coordination of hands and eye/hand/foot movements.

Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Portage, Michigan.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $16.00 - $18.00/hr.
