    Job Title: 1st Shift Quality Inspector

    Job Description

    We are seeking a diligent and detail-oriented 1st Shift Quality Inspector to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that all products meet our rigorous quality standards through thorough inspection and verification processes.

    Responsibilities

    + Perform first piece inspection approval in the assigned department.

    + Conduct final inspection of all products produced in the assigned department.

    + Verify that gauges issued to operators for production inspection are correct and within the calibration cycle.

    + Assist operators with part inspection and the use of various types of inspection equipment.

    + Utilize various inspection methods, techniques, equipment, and instruments to verify print tolerances.

    + Verify all part routings and QA documents used in production.

    + Input inspection data into the database and M2M software.

    + Inspect products in alternate areas as assigned.

    + Perform dimensional tests on PPAP samples when requested.

    + Train new operators and quality department employees.

    + Check out gauging to operators as needed.

    + Collect and record data from inspections to ensure compliance with quality standards.

    + Identify and document any non-conforming products or materials.

    Essential Skills

    + At least 1 year of experience with blueprints.

    + Proficiency with micrometers, calipers, and gauges.

    + Experience with quality control, micrometers, production, QC, CMM operation, and CMM programming.

    + Ability to read and comprehend shop floor blueprint drawings.

    + Proficiency in both Imperial and Metric systems.

    + Proficiency in the use of various inspection equipment such as optical comparator, profilometer, roundness tester, universal gauge, hand gauges, etc.

    + Proper care and use of attribute gauges.

    + Basic knowledge of SPC use and application.

    + Basic operation of Micro-Vu inspection system.

    + Basic understanding of computers and Microsoft Office Software.

    + Knowledge and use of geometric tolerances.

    + Knowledge and understanding of ISO 9000.

    + Strong visual observation and critical thinking skills.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + Previous experience as a Quality Inspector or in a similar role is preferred.

    + Good attitude and willingness to learn new things.

    + Ability to work self-directed.

    + Good verifiable attendance record.

    Work Environment

     

    The position is based in an office setting with three other team members, inspecting parts in the quality room. The schedule is Monday through Friday from 6:30 AM to 5 PM, with Fridays as needed. The facility includes assembly lines, manufacturing areas, offices, and a warehouse, providing a dynamic and engaging work environment. The company employs approximately 100 people, with about 10 working in the office.

    This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Seward, Illinois.

     

    Pay and Benefits

     

    The pay range for this position is $17.00 - $22.00/hr.
