The Qualcomm Global Automotive team is actively engaged in offering optimized solutions for Automotive Infotainment and Autonomous Driving systems. We are seeking ambitious, bright, and innovative engineers to be part of this initiative. Job activities span the whole product life cycle from early R&D to commercial deployment. The environment is fast-paced and requires cross-functional interaction with globally placed teams.
Minimum Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 4+ years of Software Applications Engineering, Software Development experience, or related work experience.
OR
Master's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 3+ years of Software Applications Engineering, Software Development experience, or related work experience.
OR
PhD in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 2+ years of Software Applications Engineering, Software Development experience, or related work experience.
• 2+ years of experience with Programming Language such as C, C++, Java, Python, etc.
• 1+ year of experience with debugging techniques.
Responsibilities shall include the following:
• Design and implementation of embedded systems based on Qualcomm’s Infotainment and ADAS SoCs and platforms.
• Closely collaborate with product owners and domain/technology experts to define the specifications, lead the software design/implementation, and integrate/validate software in a larger system.
• Actively engage with Automotive OEMs, Tier-1s and ISVs to implement solutions based on of Qualcomm Automotive platforms.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Masters degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field.
• Working knowledge of operating systems like QNX, Linux and other RTOSs
• Experience with Embedded software development, integration, debugging.
• Experience with Multitasking systems and architecture
• Experience with C/C++ programming
• Knowledge on Linux Device Driver, Embedded Linux, RTOS, Process & Memory Management
• Knowledge on Android Architecture, Media Framework, IPC Mechanisms and Vehicle HAL interface
• Knowledge on Linux camera sensor driver bring-up, Camera ISP, Camera sensor driver, VCM driver, flash driver, PLD gating, 3A algorithm improvement and troubleshooting
• Knowledge of 3A algorithms, tuning experiences, and familiarity with MIPI, I2C, GPIOs, V4L2 a plus
• Experience with designing complex fault-tolerant safety systems and designing in accordance with industry standard specifications (e.g. ISO26262, ASPICE).
• Excellent issue triage and Debugging skills
• Good Communication and Excellent Team working skills.
• Quick Adaptability to work in new technologies.
• Strong skills in analyzing performance of software/hardware solutions on multi-core architectures; understanding of multi-core architecture fundamentals (core, cache, memory, bus, PCIe, etc.)
• Target specific code generation and optimization using LLVM or GCC compiler
• Performance analysis, tuning, and debug using Linux-based profiling tools: perf events, hot-spots, call stacks, Ftrace
• Experience in using debugging tools such as JTAG, Trace32 and oscilloscope/Logical Analyzer.
• Strong development skills in C++ and Python
• Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) and team player
• Exposure on Automotive product development is a plus and Automotive Software development
• Exposure to Hypervisors and Virtualization
• Experience with System performance profiling and optimization

Pay range** **and Other Compensation & Benefits** **:
$145,000.00 - $217,600.00
The above pay scale reflects the broad, minimum to maximum, pay scale for this job code for the location for which it has been posted. Even more importantly, please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Qualcomm. We also offer a competitive annual discretionary bonus program and opportunity for annual RSU grants (employees on sales-incentive plans are not eligible for our annual bonus).
