Position Summary
This position is for an individual to carry out mathematical and statistical modeling of pharmacokinetic and pharmacodynamic data of anticancer drugs in tumor models as well as in cancer patients. This will involve working with data sets generated in Dr. Gustafson’s laboratory as well as data available from the scientific literature or other databases.
The individual in this position will have the primary responsibility of curating data sets and defining appropriate mathematical approaches for data analysis and comparison. A primary goal of the Gustafson Laboratory is to identify biomarkers to decrease variability in pharmacokinetic and pharmacodynamic dose-exposure and dose-response relationships and to predict which patients will most benefit from select drug and drug combinations in cancer therapy. These mathematical modeling exercises will specifically address these questions.
The computational nature of this position means that the primary duties will involve data input and the writing and implementation of algorithms written in R, Python, MatLab or other appropriate software packages.
Position Minimum Qualifications
+ BS/BA in Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering or equivalent.
Preferred Qualifications
+ Experience in R, Python and MatLab.
+ Interest in mathematical modeling of biological systems “Big Data” analysis.
