Are you a passionate Quality Engineer with a drive for excellence in manufacturing? Join our Plastics Center of Excellence (COE) as a Principal Manufacturing Quality Engineer and play a pivotal role in shaping the future of quality management for our high-volume production processes.
About the Role
As the Principal Manufacturing Quality Engineer, you will lead and execute critical quality management initiatives, ensuring compliance with the Quality Management System while driving innovation on the production floor. You’ll be a strategic partner in resolving complex quality challenges, enhancing manufacturing processes, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver exceptional results.

How You'll Create Possibilities
Key Responsibilities
+ **Problem-Solving:** Lead the resolution of escalated production floor and field issues by coordinating resources across quality, manufacturing, design, and technology teams.
+ **Manufacturing Control Plans (MCP):** Oversee the creation, auditing, and maintenance of MCPs for assigned areas, ensuring documentation remains up-to-date and relevant.
+ **Documentation & Training:** Develop and update Manufacturing Control Instructions (MCIs), visual aids, and quality alerts. Ensure repair operators are trained and processes adhere to quality standards.
+ **Continuous Improvement:** Collaborate with factory operations to identify root causes of quality issues, implement Lean manufacturing principles, and validate process improvements.
+ **Data Analysis:** Utilize Statistical Process Control (SPC) to monitor metrics, identify trends, and initiate corrective actions when necessary.
+ **Change Management:** Facilitate communication and documentation for process changes, deviations, and trials while ensuring seamless operations and quality standards.
+ **Leadership:** Coach Quality Inspectors and Operations team members, fostering a culture of quality and continuous improvement.
+ **Measurement Systems:** Lead the procurement, development, and implementation of quality measurement systems, including advanced gauging tools, CMMs, and 3D scanning systems.
What You'll Bring to Our Team
Required Qualifications:
+ Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or related field.
+ 7+ years of experience in manufacturing quality, NPI projects, or process improvement.
+ Expertise in Quality Management System implementation and PFMEA/FMEA methodologies.
+ Proven ability to analyze data, manage projects, and drive process improvements in high-volume manufacturing environments.
+ Proficiency in tools like Excel, Minitab, and other statistical software.
+ Travel (up to 10%) to suppliers and other manufacturing locations as needed
Preferred Qualifications:
+ Six Sigma Certification.
+ Master Molder Certification.
+ Experience with injection molding, APQP/PPAP, and high-volume manufacturing processes.
+ Strong working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles.
