Join the UPMC Hamot team as a Pharmacy Manager and take on a dynamic leadership role in designing and implementing cutting-edge clinical pharmacy services. As a Pharmacy Manager, you’ll oversee the efficient delivery of pharmaceutical care, ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations while integrating quality improvement initiatives into service delivery. You'll also play an integral role in shaping policies, managing budgets, and fostering collaboration with multidisciplinary teams to enhance patient care. Working with state-of-the-art pharmacy automation, including robots and controlled substance systems, you'll be at the forefront of pharmacy innovation. This role includes leadership in staff recruitment, mentoring, and professional development, along with participation in educational initiatives for students and residents. In this role, there is the opportunity to -
+ Design and implement operational services to support the pharmacists' provision of pharmaceutical care, including dispensing and compounding.
+ Maintain productive, collaborative relationships with physicians, nurses, and departmental managers to achieve program and clinical service goals.
+ Develop and monitor the delivery of pharmaceutical care, ensuring patient satisfaction and addressing deficiencies.
+ Facilitate staff involvement in departmental programs such as quality improvement and staff development.
+ Promote and support research initiatives related to pharmaceutical practice.
+ Integrate distributive and cognitive aspects of pharmaceutical care to optimize patient outcomes.
+ Assist in recruiting, hiring, mentoring, and evaluating staff, providing constructive feedback and enforcing corrective action as needed.
+ Ensure cost-effective drug therapy by analyzing patient outcomes and validating care according to current standards.
+ Maintain up-to-date knowledge on drug therapy and technology, ensuring all staff pharmacists complete required competencies.
+ Schedule pharmacy staff to effectively cover operations and on-call hours while ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations.
Required
+ B.S. degree in Pharmacy or Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm D.) from an accredited school of pharmacy
+ Three years' experience in a broad range of pharmacy operational, clinical, or administrative pharmacy practice OR completion of an HSPAL postgraduate pharmacy residency
Preferred:
+ Masters degree in pharmacy administration or healthcare management (MS, MBA, MHA)
+ PGY-1 postgraduate pharmacy residency
+ Board of Pharmacy Specialties (BPS) certification
+ Prior inpatient pharmacy leadership experience
Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:
+ Pharmacist
