Position Overview

Kiewit has an immediate opening for a **Civil Designer** to join our Power Engineering Group.

District Overview

Kiewit Power Engineers brings various project types to life across North America, including gas-fired generation, power delivery, environmental retrofits, renewables and new technology, and water/wastewater. Our staff leads the power markets engineering process and collaborates with Kiewit's construction teams to focus on safe, cost-effective and innovative designs that achieve client expectations and further Kiewit's legacy of excellence.

Location

This position is based out of our Lone Tree, CO office. Hybrid/Flexible working options may be available.

Responsibilities

+ Assist with modeling, both 2D and 3D, ensuring correct reference files are attached and model reference directory is up to date; develop models utilizing drawings, sketches, and design skills.

+ Coordinate with project team by utilizing the Project Database; report project progression updates and or issues to Lead Designer as required.

+ Assist in the review of designs for consistency, safety, operability and maintenance requirements before submitting to checking.

+ Help create guidelines, checklists or other applicable knowledge base documents as assigned.

+ Collaborate with team members in design and drafting techniques to challenge abilities; provide constructive feedback to aid in employee development.

+ Collaborate with various discipline and subsidiary groups to provide expertise and support business needs.

+ Assist in completion of as-builts by utilizing RFIs, ECNs and red-marked drawings from construction to develop “Conformed to Construction Records” as required.

+ Participate in project and layout meetings; coordinate and assist in activities of project team members.

Qualifications

+ Diploma in drafting technology and 3-5+ years of civil design experience or a combination of education and experience.

+ Proficient in utilizing a Computer-Aided Drafting program such as AutoCAD or Civil 3D. With possible support background using AutoCAD, MicroStation, GeoPak, InRoads, Navis Works, Google Earth

+ Basic knowledge of the latest computer operating systems, spreadsheets, and databases

+ Ability to effectively communicate through emails and utilize electronic meeting requests

+ Experience with solar PV layouts preferred

+ Regular, reliable attendance

+ Communicate and interact effectively and professionally with supervisors, employees, and others individually or in a team environment

+ Perform work safely and effectively. Understand and follow oral and written instructions, including warning signs, equipment use, and other policies.

+ Work during normal operating hours to organize and complete work within given deadlines. Work overtime and weekends as required.

Base Compensation: $75,000/yr - $95,000/yr

(Actual compensation is subject to variation due to such factors as education, experience, skillset, and/or location)
