POSITION SUMMARY
The Technology Implementation Specialist is responsible for providing operational and analytical support to ensure the seamless execution of technology projects within the Department of Innovation & Performance. This role leverages project management methodologies, data analysis, and workflow optimization to lead project implementations, ensuring adherence to defined timelines, budgets, and deliverables. The specialist utilizes project management tools to monitor key performance indicators (KPIs), assess risk factors, and generate reports that inform data-driven decision-making and overall project completion.

Qualifying Requirements :
Your City of Pittsburgh application will be reviewed and your work experience and education/training will be evaluated to determine if you meet the qualifying eligibility requirements listed below for this position. You will be sent an eligibility letter regarding your eligible/ineligible status.
+ WORK EXPERIENCE: The application must clearly show two (2) years of full-time experience in project or program management, or other related experience. (Less than full-time experience will be calculated on a pro-rated basis.)
+ EDUCATION/TRAINING: The application must clearly show a Bachelor's Degree from a fully accredited institution in Information Systems, Computer Science, Project Management, or a related field. (See NOTE under the General Application Requirements Section above regarding the verification of education/training).
+ EQUIVALENCY: Education/training and/or work experience may be substituted on a year-for-year basis if the application clearly shows the required number of years to meet the Total Qualifying Requirement for this position (based on the sum of work experience and education/training listed above). The Total Qualifying Requirement is six (6) years. (See NOTE under the General Application Requirements Section above regarding the verification of education/training).

POSITION DUTIES
+ Serves as a leader and integral member of assigned project teams, collaborating with senior leadership to monitor and manage mission-critical IT projects from initiation through execution and post-implementation evaluation.
+ Executes and facilitates tasks assigned by senior leaders related to IT project management, ensuring timely and efficient completion.
+ Leads project teams in developing and maintaining project charters, risk registers, organizational change management plans, and other key project management artifacts in alignment with departmental standards and best practices.
+ Ensures project plans are continuously updated and maintained, tracking progress, identifying dependencies, and deliverables within project management systems.
+ Manages change control processes by tracking modifications in change logs, informing stakeholders of schedule adjustments, and assessing the impact on the departmental and citywide project portfolio.
+ Functions as a liaison between technical project teams and the Project Management Office (PMO), coordinating project documentation, resource allocation, stakeholder communications, and reporting within the department’s project portfolio platform.
+ Contributes to the efficiency and success of IT project initiatives.
+ May require travel within the City of Pittsburgh to support on-site project activities and stakeholder engagement.
+ Performs other related tasks and duties as assigned or required.
