    Job Description

    The Department of Counseling & Human Services at Old Dominion University invites applicants for a non-tenure track Lecturer of Human Services position, located on the Norfolk, VA campus to begin Fall 2025. This is a 10-month annual appointment teaching on campus with a 4/4 teach load, as well as service commitments.

    Minimum required education and/or special licenses, registrations, trainings, or certifications

    A Master’s in Human Services or a closely related field.

    Minimum required level and type of experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities

    + Evidence of professional identity in the field of human services (i.e., articulation of what human services is, and education, teaching, work, or service in a human services context).

    + 2-5 years of post-graduate experience in the helping professions (e.g., human services, social work, counseling, community development).

    + Experience teaching undergraduate students in human services or a closely related field.

    + Demonstrated commitment to diversity.

    Preferred Qualifications

    + Professional identity and history of service in the helping fields to include membership, leadership, or service in professional organizations (e.g., NOHS , ACA , NAADAC etc.)

    + Credential in a helping profession (e.g., QMHP , HS- BCP , LPC , LCSW , CSAC , etc.)
