Position summary: JMT is seeking a space management specialist in the Washington, DC area for an exciting opportunity to work with the federal government. The space management specialist will provide capital and real property expertise in representing the federal government’s interest with regard to leasing and owned portfolio projects. This includes end-to-end space management and customer service to ensure space requirements are met in an efficient and timely manner in order to avoid cost overruns.
Compensation for this position is $75,000.00 - $115,000.00, commensurate with experience, education and certifications. The provided range is a good faith estimate based on the requirements described within the job description. We notice that we receive a wide variety of applicants and recognize that the person selected may be less experienced or more experienced. If so, the actual salary range may vary from the estimate provided. This position is not eligible for employer based sponsorship with the exception of the TN visa classification.

Essential skills and responsibilities
+ Review documents, estimates, specs and drawings appropriate to the leased and owned portfolios including Space Request Packages.
+ Assist the Program Offices with identifying and translating mission requirements to space requirements.
+ Analyze requests for new space and associated proposals.
+ Assess space requirements against space allocation criteria to include space utilization criteria.
+ Assist in the development of Project Management Plans (PMP) for assigned projects.
+ Assist with the creation and maintenance of project schedules
+ Assist in the preparation and updating of cost estimates
+ Assist in preparation of project budgets
Required Skills
+ Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
+ Proficient written and verbal communication skills
+ Strong work ethic. Willing to do what it takes to get the job done
+ Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
Required Experience
+ 10 years’ experience as space management specialist
Preferred Experience
+ Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management, architectural or a related field from an accredited engineering, construction management or architectural program
+ Knowledgeable with CPM scheduling
+ Experience working with governmental agencies at the federal, city, county and state levels
Working Conditions
Work is performed in both an office and field (construction) environment. Office to field time is approximately 95% to 5% respectively. Field work requires climbing, walking and standing at a construction site and may be outside in heat/cold, wet/humid, and dry/arid conditions. Some lifting (up to 10 lbs.) may be required.
