The salary range indicated in this announcement is based on the Employee/Employer retirement compensation schedule. An employer-only option is available at a reduced salary range. Generally, salaries start at the lowest level of a step 1 and increase with each year of service to the highest level of a step 10.

The Position

Clinical Social Workers provide clinical services to clients/inmates in a residential, home, inpatient, outpatient, rehabilitation, correctional or similar setting.

Incumbents perform in a trainee capacity and acquire the knowledge, skills and abilities required in this occupation. OR Incumbents perform basic tasks or elements of the job not requiring the additional knowledge, skills and abilities to perform at the next level in the series.

The Division of Public and Behavioral Health, Southern Nevada Adult Mental Health (SNAMHS) is recruiting for a Clinical Social Worker 1 at Rawson-Neal Psychiatric Hospital in Las Vegas, Nevada. This recruitment is used to underfill a Clinical Social Worker 2. Duties include overseeing the delivery of professional services, responsibility for staff coverage, space and equipment needs, budget development and monitoring, developing policies and procedures, and ensuring compliance with applicable regulations, program guidelines, and agency policy. To Qualify:

In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:

Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)

Master's degree from an accredited college or university in social work and an internship approved by the Board of Examiners for Social Workers.

Special Notes

Incumbents must obtain and maintain licensure or provisional licensure to engage in social work as a Clinical Social Worker or associate in social work in accordance with NRS Chapter 641B and the regulations adopted by the Board of Examiners for Social Workers.

Must be in or eligible for an internship for licensure as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with the State of Nevada Board of Examiners for Social Workers, or must hold a license in the State of Nevada as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker.

Special Requirements

Working evenings, weekends, and/or holidays is required.

A pre-employment criminal history check and fingerprinting are required. Persons offered employment in this position will be required to pay for fingerprinting.

A valid driver's license is required at the time of appointment and as a condition of continuing employment.
