    The Office of Sponsored Programs is seeking a Post-Award Research Administrator (Level I, II, or III) to support the administrative management of externally funded sponsored projects at WKU. The position will assist faculty, staff, and university administrators in ensuring compliance with external sponsor guidelines and managing the post-award process.

     

    Post-Award Research Administrator I

    Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

    + Assist with creating, maintaining, and revising post-award documents, including budgets, charts of accounts, reallocations, no-cost extensions, and other changes to funded projects

    + Ensure post-award activities comply with institutional, sponsor, state, and federal guidelines (e.g., NIH, NSF, Uniform Guidance)

    + Assist with the issuance of subaward agreements and ensure compliance with Uniform Guidance and federal FFATA reporting requirements

    + Guide faculty, staff, and administrators in interpreting sponsor guidelines and ensuring compliance with funding requirements

    + Assist in interpreting programmatic report requirements of the sponsor

    + Communicate with Grants & Contracts Accounting on post-award matters

    + Maintain accurate award information in the university's sponsored project database, SPIRIT, and the client folders

    + Work under the guidance of senior administrators to troubleshoot issues

    + Attend professional development training(s)

    + Perform other duties as assigned. Depending on management discretion and institutional needs, duties may be added, deleted, or reassigned

     

    Post-Award Research Administrator II

     

    (Includes all Level I duties, with additional responsibilities and independence)

    Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

    + Ensure timely and accurate closeout of awards, including final reports

    + Handles complex tasks in post-award administration (e.g. budget changes, multi-year award management, change in scope)

    + Involved in process improvements

    + Advanced responsibilities for compliance and interpretation of regulations

     

    Post-Award Research Administrator III

     

    (Includes all duties in Level I & II, with advanced responsibilities and leadership)

    Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

    + Strategic and high-level grant management

    + Leadership and supervision responsibilities

    + Handles highly complex awards and serves as a subject matter expert

    + Influences policy, training, and institutional-level practices

    + Regular interaction with senior leadership and external sponsors

    Job Requirements:

    + Bachelor's degree

    + At least one year of experience in research administration, grant management, accounting, or budget management

    + Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel

    Additional Information:

    Salary Range:

    + Level I: $46,100 - $50,000

    + Level II: $51,000 - $55,000

    + Level III: $56,000 - $60,000
