Job Description
The Development Specialist reports to and works with the Director, Development. The Specialist supports the Foundation’s mission by planning and executing successful fundraising events, securing donor contributions, and fostering meaningful relationships with alumni and community stakeholders. This role is responsible for coordinating all aspects of foundation events to achieve financial goals, engaging donors through solicitation efforts, and managing stewardship programs such as the President’s Circle and O’Connell Society. Annual fundraising goals will be set by the Director, Development.
Employees of Harford Community College, including instructors for online and virtual courses, must be residents of Maryland or the contiguous states of Delaware, Pennsylvania, Virginia, West Virginia or the District of Columbia; non-residents are expected to relocate to meet this requirement.

Required Education
Associates Degree
Required Experience
Minimum of one year fundraising experience
Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
+ Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams & SharePoint)
+ Excellent written and verbal communication skills
+ Strong attention to detail
+ Demonstrated proficiency with time management
+ Proficiency with relationship building and networking
+ Ability to commute to various event locations
Preferred Qualifications
Experience using Ellucian Banner is a plus
