Overview
Intelligent Waves has an immediate need for a Virtualization Systems Administrator to support our mission-critical work for our government customers. The Systems Administrator will join the Operations and Maintenance (O&M) team focused on day-to-day IT Support, Operations, and Maintenance of a growing, enterprise-wide Big Data processing and analysis system. The ideal candidate will have experience in IT Operational support of Virtualized Environments, Large Network Attached Storage (NAS), and Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI).

**Location & Travel:** This position will be based at **Eielson AFB, Alaska** and may require some travel to other sites (20%). Travel will be reimbursed based on GSA Per Diem rates and DoD Joint Travel Regulations (JTR).
**Security Clearance:** This Virtualization Systems Administrator must be a United States Citizen and hold a current Secret security clearance with eligibility to obtain a TS/SCI.

Responsibilities
IT Support Services
+ Provide comprehensive, end-to-end IT support with a strong emphasis on customer satisfaction.
+ Assist end-users with troubleshooting, service requests, and technical guidance.
Systems Administration
+ Manage servers, storage systems, workstations, peripherals, communication devices, and software.
+ Perform system installation, configuration, hardening, and validation for new or updated deployments.
System Maintenance & Security
+ Conduct regular preventative maintenance on IT systems to ensure optimal performance.
+ Implement and test software patches and security updates in coordination with the Network Operations and Security Center or Program Management Office.
Documentation & Process Compliance
+ Develop, maintain, and improve technical documentation for installation, configuration, hardening, and O&M procedures.
+ Accurately document activities, issue resolutions, and system statuses.
+ Support Configuration Management efforts and comply with related processes.
+ Adhere to all technical standards and Department of Defense (DoD)/Air Force (AF) guidance.

+ Foster and maintain positive working relationships with peers and cross-functional teams.
+ Contribute to a team-oriented environment focused on mission success.
Additional Duties
+ Perform other duties as assigned to support organizational goals and operational needs.
Travel & Work Schedule Requirements
+ Must be able and willing to travel occasionally to CONUS and OCONUS locations.
+ Travel may include transportation via military and commercial aircraft.
+ Availability to work outside normal duty hours, including evenings, weekends, holidays, shift work, and overtime, as required to meet mission demands.
Qualifications
+ Possess an active IAT Level II certification in accordance with DoD 8570.01-M (e.g., Security+ CE, MCSA).
+ Minimum of two (2) years of experience in Systems Administration, preferably in an Air Force environment.
+ Associate degree in a Computer Science-related field, or an equivalent combination of at least four (4) years of relevant education, professional training, or work experience.
+ Hands-on experience withLinux and virtualization technologies such as VMware.
+ Familiarity with providing support in Configuration Management, Fault Management, Systems Administration, Database Configuration Control, and Documentation.
+ Understanding of common base-level Air Force communication and IT systems.
+ Familiarity with Air Force Instructions (AFIs), especially the 17 and 33 series, including AFI 33-115v1.
+ Ability to understand customer mission requirements and apply knowledge of system hardware/software capabilities and limitations to support the mission effectively.
+ Experience with hyper-converged solutionsand exchange is a plus.
+ Desired Hands-on experience with the following:
+ Group Policy
+ Active Directory
+ DNS & DHCP
+ Linux and virtualization technologies such as VMware, vSphere, Horizon View
+ Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs), Patching, Windows Server Update Services (WSUS)
**Personal Attributes** :
+ Ability to work well with others.

+ Good organizational skills.
+ Proficient in MS Office tools.
