The Computer Science Department at Utica University invites applications for a tenure-track position beginning Fall 2025 at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor.

Major Responsibilities
The candidate will be expected to teach at the undergraduate and graduate level, maintain an active research program, and contribute to service at the institution. The teaching load is generally 24 contact hours per academic year (approximately eight courses per year).

Education & Experience Qualifications
The ideal candidate will hold a Ph.D. in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a closely related field and have at least 1 semester of teaching experience in higher education. They should have a strong background in advising student research at both undergraduate and graduate levels and some experience and interest in grant writing. A deep understanding of Natural Language Processing (NLP) and Software Engineering is required, along with experience teaching courses in Networking and Network Security, Operating Systems, and Programming Languages. Additionally, the candidate should have experience mentoring and training competitive programming teams and leading assessment efforts to meet program- and department-level goals.
Minimum Skills/Abilities
The candidate must possess strong technical expertise in operating systems, computer networks, and programming across various paradigms. Proficiency in Python and other programming languages is essential, along with mastery of NLP tools, toolkits, and Python libraries relevant to Natural Language Processing research and applications.
