Construction/Program Management and AE Design support across all geographies serving commercial, federal, state agencies and local government, and industrial clients in all aspects of program management, construction management, and AE design for design-build projects. Experience in the federal procurement process is a plus.
Essential Functions of the Position: Serve as Program Manager for Thompson's Construction Management Services sustaining and growing this business line across all offices and geographies with an emphasis on the federal government. This role will require technical excellence as a subject matter expert in procurement, design, and construction processes, coupled with the business acumen necessary to conduct client and market analysis, to provide technical governance and innovation, and to lead Program, Project, and Contract Management (PPCM) strategy. Responsibilities may include assisting in: 1. managing and supervising staff associated with delivering construction management services. 2. development and implementation of business plans anticipating complex issues, challenges, and opportunities, and ensuring integration with wider corporate strategy. 3. anticipating trends and complex challenges and opportunities to ensure the strategy is successfully implemented and meets long-term business needs. 4. communicating business plans and strategies, clarifying the actions needed for implementation, and motivating people to commit to these actions. 5. leading and coordinating the development of stakeholder engagement plans to support the communication of business information and decisions. 6. acting as a Subject Matter Expert affecting technology, policy, regulation, and operational management by maintaining an in-depth understanding of current and emerging technologies, external regulation, and industry best practices through continuing professional development. 7. building capabilities and technical excellence on a formal basis within the various units of the company through mentoring and other informal methods. 8. creating and managing internal and external partnerships, connecting different internal and external stakeholders.
Minimum Requirements: 1. 20 years' experience with proven technical and managerial experience. 2. Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management, or a related degree preferred. 3. Strong communication, teamwork, and leadership skills. 4. Good computer skills commensurate with the requirements of the industry. 5. Strong in budgeting, scheduling, scoping with understanding of financial controls. 6. Understanding of risk management in the AE/Construction field with an advanced understanding of contracting fundamentals. 7. Must be willing to work flexible schedules and overtime as needed.
Physical Requirements: 1. Ability to sit for long period of time. 2. Must be able to safely drive a vehicle. 3. Must be able to lift and carry up to 25 lbs.
