Job Summary
OVERVIEW
The Community Engaged Learning ( CEL ) Data Operations Coordinator works with the Director of Curricular Engaged Learning and the Student Programs Manager. Main job responsibilities include CEL data gathering, entry, and analysis as well as database maintenance. The CEL Data Coordinator drafts CEL -related communications and provides administrative assistance to CEL efforts including faculty committees. Applicants should have experience with Microsoft Office, particularly with manipulating spreadsheets in Excel.
This role is also a part of the Community Engaged Learning Leadership Team and holds mentoring and outreach responsibilities related to the Bennion Community Engaged Scholars and Community Engagement Certificate programs. Preference will be given to students in good standing with either of these programs.
While performing the above duties, this position is expected to work on campus at the Bennion Center front desk inside the Union building and/or the Bennion Center kiosk inside Kahlert Village. Responsibilities include welcoming guests, educating them about Community Engaged Learning and Bennion Center opportunities, and providing exceptional customer service.
Applicants for this role will need to have some availability M-F, 8-5, as well as some weekends and/or evenings to accommodate the extended hours offered at Kahlert Village. Applicants must be available Fall 2025 and Spring 2026 semesters. Students will generally work between 8-10 hours per week.
Responsibilities
Data Operations:
+ CEL data entry and database management (Excel)
+ Process funding data and ensure accurate record keeping
+ Analyze CEL data for trends and reporting
+ Provide day-to-day operational support to the CEL team
+ Provide administrative support for community engaged faculty committees
+ Draft CEL communications including emails to CEL faculty
+ Participate as an active member of the CEL community, sharing information and collaborating with colleagues in a respectful and professional manner, and contributing to a healthy and positive work environment.
Community Engaged Learning Leadership Team ( CELLT ):
+ Develop strategic goals related to the position; meet with the CELS Programs Manager to discuss progress and ongoing program needs.
+ Actively engage in regularly scheduled CELLT meetings and complete tasks between meetings.
+ Help recruit new members to CEL programs through info sessions, class presentations, tabling, word of mouth, social events, etc.
+ Mentor and support other CEL program students in fulfilling program requirements.
+ Attend all CELLT -organized events.
+ Assist with the planning of and attend the Civic Leadership Conference.
+ Be aware of and communicate opportunities related to community engagement (e.g. potential workshops, community partners, service projects, etc.) to students and the CEL Programs Manager.
+ Execute other tasks/assignments according to the needs of the program.
Desk Attendant:
+ Serve as an ambassador for CEL and the Bennion Center at the Bennion Center Kiosk at the Gail Miller Community Engagement Tower (located at the Kahlert Village residence hall) and at the Bennion Center office in the student union
+ Refer interested students to the appropriate community engagement opportunities both on and off campus
+ Maintain inventory of supplies and needs at the kiosk and in the Bennion Center
+ Guide and instruct drop-in volunteers on available Service Corner projects
+ Assist with other clerical tasks as needed
Complete CEL and Bennion Center Student Leader Orientation
Minimum Qualifications
+ High School Diploma, or equivalency.
