The role you’ll contribute:
**Department Chair PA** actively participates in outstanding customer service and accepts responsibility in maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all. The Department Chair manages the program including hiring, managing the department's budget, overseeing accreditation requirements, representing the department at the institution level, and providing mentorship and leadership to staff and faculty. The **Department Chair** develops, designs, and delivers instruction in courses as needed. The Department Chair also participates in student advising and mentoring, and engages in the academic roles of teaching, service, scholarship, and research in balance with their administrative duties. The Department Chair reviews and assists with revisions as needed for department policies and procedures and identifies and recommends appropriate community agency linkages for student learning experiences.

**Scope of Responsibility** :
+ Represent the Department to Senior Administration
+ Identifies appropriate community agency linkages for student learning experiences
+ Participates in student scholarly activities
+ Designs, coordinates, and implements program curriculum
**Compliance/Regulatory Responsibility** :
+ Develops the curriculum in harmony with the institution, the community, and professional accreditation agencies
+ Develops, reviews and updates department policies and procedures
+ Documents, reviews, and maintains current faculty, clinical liaison, staff, student, and clinical affiliation records for the Department
**Operating & Capital Budget/Financial Responsibility** :
+ Develops and maintains department budget that assures adequate resources to support faculty
+ Seeks and applies for internal and/or external sources of funding for the department and/or students
**Strategic Planning Responsibility** :
+ Determines departmental vision and strategic plan in accordance with the institution’s mission and vision
**Performance Improvement Responsibility** :
+ Maintains involvement in professional organizations
+ Develops improvement plans for the department, faculty, staff, and students to improve performance, as indicated by assessment results
**Community Relations Responsibility** :
+ Exhibits and models the characteristics of a Christian professional
+ Participates in program and University-wide service activities
**Staffing/Labor/Supervisory Responsibility** :
+ Human resource management to ensure excellence in teaching for students
+ Manages selection, evaluation, and mentorship of department faculty and staff
+ Oversees all course instruction, department technology, and employee scheduling
Qualifications
The expertise and experiences you’ll need to succeed** **:
+ **Master's Science in Physician Assistant**
+ **5-years of clinical experience as a physician assistant**
+ Knowledge of Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant (ARC-PA) accreditation standards
+ Current Physician Assistant licensure in any state (will need to get licensed in State of Florida within 6-months of employment)
+ Current **NCCPA** (National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants) certification
