Description
SAIC is seeking a highly skilled **Senior Executive Assistant** to provide exceptional executive-level administrative support to the Deputy Under Secretary of Defense for Research and Engineering (DUSD(R&E)). This is an exciting position that requires a proactive, detail-oriented professional with experience supporting top department leadership within the Pentagon and across the DoD. The ideal candidate will possess excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills and is seeking to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment and contribute to significant national defense initiatives.
This position is full time on site in Arlington, VA.
Job Description:
+ Executive Schedule Management: Efficiently manage and optimize the DUSD(R&E)’s complex and fast-moving schedule. De-conflict events to ensure seamless daily operations.
+ Executive Meeting Support: Coordinate visit requests, process visitor access, and escort DUSD(R&E) visitors for meetings when needed. Ensure meeting material is received ahead of time to better enable decision and mission outcomes.
+ Travel Coordination: Facilitate and streamline domestic and international travel arrangements for government personnel using the Defense Travel System (DTS), ensuring compliance with Joint Travel Regulations (JTR) and mission requirements.
+ Problem Solving and Decision Support: Anticipate the needs of leadership by proactively identifying potential issues and providing innovative solutions to address them swiftly.
Qualifications
Required Education and Experience:
+ Bachelors and ten (10) years or more of experience. Masters and eight (8) years or more of experience. Military or industry Executive Assistant experience may be substituted in lieu of degree.
+ Proven experience as an Executive Assistant, preferably within the DoD, supporting Senior Executive Service (SES) leadership in a fast-paced environment.
Required Clearance:
+ Active TS/SCI required
+ US Citizenship required
Required Skills:
+ Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
+ Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to interact effectively with senior leaders, team members, and external partners
+ Ability to adapt to changing priorities with flexibility and resilience
+ High level of initiative and self-motivation, with a proactive approach to problem-solving and anticipating the needs of customer
+ Strong time management skills, with the ability to meet tight deadlines and manage competing priorities effectively
+ Excellent MS Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
