We are seeking a Interior Design Project Manager with impeccable design sensibility, a passion for custom furniture and interior development, and strong project management skills. In this role, you will own the end-to-end process of designing, sourcing, and delivering new KREWE retail spaces. From schematic design to procurement and construction oversight, you will collaborate with the Expansion Team, Founder, and Leadership to translate KREWE’s distinctive aesthetic into high-performing, high-impact retail environments.
You will ensure every detail of the store build — from materials and finishes to budgets and timelines — is executed at the highest level, aligning with brand standards and creative vision.
This role is based in our New Orleans Headquarters 5 days a week.
Key Responsibilities:
Design & Aesthetic Development:
+ Lead the design process for new stores, renovations, and special projects, developing layouts, schematics, and custom solutions.
+ Incorporate historical references, contemporary art, and furniture design into retail spaces to elevate the customer experience.
+ Specify materials, finishes, fixtures, lighting, and custom furniture to ensure alignment with KREWE’s brand identity.
+ Develop and maintain a library of design standards, materials, samples, and vendors.
+ Own design meeting agendas and presentations
Project Management & Construction Oversight:
+ Create and manage costing sheets for various design projects.
+ Create design timelines and coordinate install plans with stakeholders and larger team
+ Support construction projects from pre-development through completion to ensure on-time, on-budget delivery.
Sourcing & Procurement:
+ Identify and procure unique furnishings, fixtures, and materials that embody KREWE’s creative vision.
+ Negotiate with vendors and contractors to ensure best pricing and quality.
+ Track and process invoices; work closely with Finance to manage project budgets and ensure cost controls.
+ Implement value engineering processes as needed without compromising design integrity.
Vendor & Stakeholder Coordination:
+ Select and onboard new millworkers and vendors.
+ Serve as the main point of contact between internal stakeholders (Founder, Expansion Team, Finance) and sourcing partners.
+ Facilitate project meetings and reporting to ensure transparency, accountability, and alignment.
Requirements:
Education & Experience:
+ Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design, Architecture, Art History, Furniture Design, or a related field.
+ 5–7+ years of experience in store design, project management, construction management, or a related field within the retail, hospitality, or luxury environment.
Technical Skills:
+ Proficient in AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, and Adobe Creative Suite.
+ Strong skills in Google Drive, Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
+ Familiarity with construction, architectural, and store planning terminology.
Core Competencies:
+ Exceptional taste and aesthetic judgment, with a deep appreciation for materiality, furniture design, and craftsmanship.
+ Proven project management expertise with the ability to juggle multiple complex projects under tight deadlines.
+ Budget management and capex planning experience.
+ Strong organizational and communication skills with the ability to mobilize teams.
+ High attention to detail, a proactive mindset, and ability to work independently and collaboratively.
Other Requirements:
+ Willingness to travel frequently to project sites across the country.
