Overview

Helio Health is on a mission to treat and promote recovery from the effects of substance use, mental health disorders, and other behavioral healthcare issues. The Substance Use Disorder Counselorwill work on aFull-Timebasis out of Helio Health’s OASAS Scattered Site Residental programs at our Hickory Street, West Onondaga and Highland Street locations. The schedule isMonday-Friday, 8:00am-4:30pm,with paid on call availability typically being one week per month.

Pay Rate:$18.00- $20.00 per hour.

Responsibilities

+ Maintain a case load of patients seeking treatment from the effects of substance use and/or mental health disorders.

+ Perform essential counseling responsibilities including screening, intake and orientation, assessment, evaluation and intervention, treatment planning, referrals, crisis intervention, counseling, patient education, case management, reporting and record keeping.

+ Participate in program, administrative and clinical committees as assigned.

+ Relate effectively with staff, clients, and community while upholding confidentiality requirements.

Qualifications

+ Associate's Degree in a human service field required, bachelors preferred.

+ CASAC-T required.

+ One year counseling experience preferred.

+ Equivalent alternative combination of education and experience may be substituted for the educational requirements.

+ Knowledge of addiction/recovery, behavioral health, self-help group process and principles of counseling.

+ Proficiency with basic computer applications.
