Position Summary:
Join Rolls-Royce Solutions as a Manufacturing Engineer and drive innovation in CNC and traditional machining. Key Accountabilities:
+ Provide daily technical support to both CNC and traditional machining operations, including troubleshooting, process optimization, and problem resolution.
+ Analyze product designs to determine the most efficient and cost-effective machining methods.
+ Specify, select, and implement tools, equipment, and machining processes to enhance production efficiency and quality.
+ Develop and optimize CNC programs to improve machining performance and reduce cycle times.
+ Support traditional machining processes, including manual milling, turning, grinding, and other conventional techniques.
+ Interface with equipment vendors, tooling suppliers, and contractors to implement new machining technologies and manage existing systems.
+ Lead continuous improvement initiatives focused on machining process capability, quality, and cost reduction.
+ Develop and implement work instructions, standard operating procedures, and best practices for both CNC and traditional machining operations.
+ Conduct time studies and productivity analyses to drive efficiency improvements in machining.
+ Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve manufacturing issues and improve product manufacturability.
+ Promote a compliance culture in the area of responsibility and uphold the Rolls-Royce Code of Conduct.
+ Perform special projects as required.
Basic Requirements:
+ Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, or Manufacturing Engineering, and 3 years of experience in machining engineering; or 7 years of experience in machining engineering.
Preferred Qualifications:
+ Strong analytical and problem-solving skills related to both CNC and traditional machining operations.
+ Proficiency in CNC programming (e.g., G-code, CAM software) and machining process optimization.
+ Strong knowledge of CNC machine tools, manual machining equipment, cutting tool technology, and fixture design.
+ Strong experience with process capability analysis, statistical process control (SPC), and lean manufacturing principles.
+ Strong interpersonal and communication skills to work effectively with operators, engineers, and management.
+ Ability to interpret technical drawings, GD&T, and specifications for machining applications.
+ Proficient in CAD/CAM software (e.g., PTC Creo, Mastercam, Siemens NX).
+ Ability to travel domestically and internationally as needed.
+ Ability to work overtime as required to support production or project work.
+ Strong knowledge of materials and methods of manufacture.
+ Good ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
+ Strong organization, planning, and follow-up skills.
+ Good project management skills.
+ Proficient with PC and MS Office Suite.
+ Knowledge of Rolls-Royce Solutions products, policies, and procedures.
+ Experience with SAP for production planning and manufacturing execution.
+ Experience with automation and robotics in machining.
+ Familiarity with Industry 4.0 and digital manufacturing technologies.
+ 3D CAD experience with PTC Creo Parametric.
Work Environment:

+ Daily work is performed in a general manufacturing, office, and test cell environment.
+ This position has compressed work schedule to align with production (Monday through Thursday).
+ While performing tasks for this position, the employee is regularly requested to perform work on a computer inside and occasionally outside of the work environment. Also, the employee will occasionally be required to work in environmental conditions where there are fumes and dust. Finally, the employee will be frequently requested to perform tasks in environmental conditions where there are unpleasant odors and gases. Please note, the conditions can be hazardous.
+ While performing physical demands of the position, occasionally the employee will be occasionally requested to stand, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, and squat. Also, the employee will be regularly requested to sit within a particular work environment. Next, the employee will frequently be requested to walk inside and outside the work environment. Finally, an employee will be regularly requested to grasp and manipulate items in a maneuverable manner to perform daily tasks.
