    RESPONSIBILITIES

    I. JOB SUMMARY/RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Collaborates with other health care team members in the development of an effective patient education program; provides consultation and direct care to patients with stomas, pressure ulcers, fistulas, Skin/Soft Tissue Infection (SSTI) and other wounds.

    II. TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

    A. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

    • Finger dexterity. Seeing. Hearing. Speaking.

    B. MANUAL MATERIAL HANDLING

    • Infrequent: Lift floor to waist between 21-35 lbs. Lift waist to shoulder between 0-5 lbs. Carry between 21-35 lbs.

    • Occasional: Lift floor to waist between 0-5 lbs. Carry between 0-5 lbs.

    • Frequent: Push and Pull between 21-35 lbs.

    • Constant: N/A

    C. NON-MANUAL MATERIAL HANDLING

    • Infrequent: Kneel. Crawl.

    • Occasional: Stoop/Bend. Reach: shoulder level. Reach: above head. Gripping.

    • Frequent: Stand. Sit. Walk. Climb: Stairs/Ladder.

    • Constant: N/A

    III. TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS:

    • Not substantially subjected to adverse environmental conditions.

    • Exposed to body fluids, blood products, secretions, communicable diseases, chemotherapy drugs.

    • Frequent exposure to needles.

    • Staff may be exposed to physical and verbal abuse/violent acts by patients, families and visitors.

    IV. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

    A. EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION AND LICENSURE:

    • Current Hawaii State license as a Registered Nurse.

    • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Nursing.

    • Certified in one (1) of the following wound certifications: Certified Wound Ostomy and Continence Nurse (CWOCN), Certified Wound Ostomy Nurse (CWON), Certified Wound Care Nurse (CWCN) from the Wound, Ostomy and Continence Nursing Certification Board (WOCNCB), or Certified Wound Specialist (CWS) from the American Board of Wound Management (ABWM).

    • Current BLS certification.

    B. EXPERIENCE:

    • Two (2) years acute care nursing experience.
