Job Title: Manager – Accounting/Payroll

Job Description:

Atlantic Health System, Inc. (“AHS”)/ AHS Investment Corp seeks a proactive and motivated Manager of Accounting to join our dedicated Finance Team at the Morris Plains Corporate location. The Manager will report directly to the Director – AHS Investment Corp, and collaborating with Director - Ambulatory Ventures. This role requires an action-oriented, results-driven individual with a proven ability to manage financial and operational responsibilities. The person will work with the accounting team to provide timely and accurate financial reporting.

Accounting Responsibilities:

Include , but are not limited to:

+ Responsible for the preparation, review, balancing and analysis of monthly and quarterly financial statements, reports and all support documentation for multiple entities, including journal entry preparation.

+ Distribution of financial report packages, including commentary on budget vs. actual variances, and cash management schedules

+ Oversee all aspects of the payroll, ensuring accurate and timely payments while adhering to the legal and compliance requirement

+ Ensure intercompany transactions are recorded correctly, are balanced timely.

+ Oversee and prepare financial information as it pertains to the year-end audit including footnote support schedules.

+ Provide information and assistance to the external accounting firm in preparation of the yearly audit reports.

+ Prepare and provide information to outside consultant to assist in the preparation of yearly tax filings.

+ Assist in the budget process and related analytical projects.

+ Serve as the point person with physician care centers, clear and concise communication skills

+ Ensure compliance of the monthly care center banking/reporting submissions (EOM, TOS reports)

+ Partner with Executive Director, care center liaisons on care center onboarding/disassociations ensuring all finance/reporting requirements are addressed.

+ Provide management and direction to accounting staff.

+ Oversee whole cash management process ensuring accuracy of cash receipts, transfers, and disbursements, including accounts payable disbursement scheduling, and maintaining compliance with positive pay fraud protections.

+ Supervise the process of bank reconciliations for all related accounts.

+ Present financial data to upper management and physicians.

+ Create/update policies and procedures where necessary.

+ Provide assistance to Director, as needed.

Qualifications:

+ Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.

+ CPA or Master’s degree preferred.

+ Proven experience in accounting of large complex organization with 5+ years progressive experience, preferably in healthcare or not-for-profit industries.

+ 3 years of supervisory experience preferred.

+ Proactive, collaborative, and able to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.

Competencies:

+ PC knowledge: Windows, Excel, Word, Axiom budgeting software

+ Working knowledge of a computerized G/L system (NetSuite/Oracle)

+ Must be able to work in a stressful environment, multi-task well, prioritize competing tasks, and take appropriate action.

+ Excellent written and verbal communications skills as well as interpersonal skills. Able to communicate with leadership in a clear and concise manner as well as make presentations to large audiences.

+ Astute attention to details and ability to report findings on a timely basis.

+ Strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles
