We are Vizio, part of Walmart, a leading smart TV platform. Our team implements the Bluetooth software and mid-level HAL support for our TV OS platform. Our team owns the Bluetooth stack development and hardware abstraction layer for Vizio TVs. We are working on next generation of OS HAL platform for future TVs. We are a dynamic group passionate about media and Bluetooth technologies. The Senior Manager will be responsible for taking visions and directing, communicating, tracking, and mentoring the Engineering team to successfully implement those visions, solving the most difficult problems in the company. This Position will report to our Senior Director, Software Engineering and will have multiple Engineering Managers as direct reports. We are a close-knit team, focusing on challenging problems that make a difference in our business. There will also be minimal travel associated with this role (twice a year). We concentrate on high-impact, high-value development, and in this role, you’ll be delivering the software that helps us grow. We pride ourselves on working in a collaborative environment, and to do so we are in our Dallas, TX office 5 days a week.

About the Embedded Software Team:
Join our Embedded Software Team, where we develop, maintain, and enhance the software that drives Walmart's core systems. Our team collaborates closely with hardware engineers to ensure seamless integration and optimal performance. As a Principal Software Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in aligning our technical roadmap with the overall product strategy, contributing directly to Walmart's success.
What You’ll Do:
Lead a team of embedded software engineers, providing technical guidance and overseeing project execution.
Define the technical roadmap for embedded software development.
Collaborate with hardware engineers to establish system architecture and specifications.
Ensure adherence to coding standards, design principles, and best practices.
Manage project timelines, budgets, and resource allocation.
What You’ll Bring:
Strong background in Linux development with proficiency in C/C++, preferably in BSP and/or drivers layers.
Proven experience in team leadership, including performance reviews and professional development.
Expertise in defining technical strategies and staying updated on industry trends.
Strong project management skills, including risk mitigation and resource allocation.
Excellent communication skills for effective cross-functional collaboration.

The annual salary range for this position is $110,000.00-$220,000.00
Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses.

Minimum Qualifications...

Option 1: Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, computer information systems, software engineering, or related area and 5 years’ experience in software engineering or related area. Option 2: 7 years’ experience in software engineering or related area.
2 years’ supervisory experience.
