What You Will Do:
This posting is for a control system airworthiness lead integration role on the ECU program. The candidate will serve as the 516C (and Multi-core) resident expert on ECU, acting as the program point of contact for Airworthiness for Controls Systems, Software, and Hardware. Responsibilities include supporting program airworthiness initiatives and customer discussions, owning the Controls Systems, Software, and Hardware certification plan, basis, and report, and driving the ECU team to execute plans and deliver necessary artifacts for the Certification Report. Additionally, the candidate will support execution in DOORS by verifying PIPS, PSIP, and 516C correlation mappings, coordinate and develop the airworthiness basis and report with the EDSI airworthiness team, program, customer, JPO, and the AW office, manage compliance assessments, and handle any non-compliances by structuring substantiating material and gaining alignment through the defined Alignment Process.

Job responsibilities include a wide range of exciting and challenging activities which involve application of fundamental engineering principles in the analysis of engine system operating requirements and the development of engine control and diagnostic systems. Candidates should have successfully demonstrated analytical skills to solve complex control, diagnostic and/or software system problems and the ability to work at the implementation level. Candidates should also have strong teamworking skills and the drive to be successful as part of a dynamic organization.

Qualifications You Must Have:
+ Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM)
+ 10+ years of overall experience in Gas Turbine Aero Engine Control System design & hardware/software integration with a bachelor’s degree or 7 with an advanced degree
+ U.S. Person or eligible to obtain necessary export authorizations required.
Qualifications We Prefer:
+ Demonstrated experience of successful leadership of team(s) on long term and/or multiyear projects.
+ Project planning experience, including application of Earned Value Management tools.
+ Practical experience with application of ARP 4754, ARP 4761, **MIL-HDBK-516,** DO-178 and DO-160, or equivalent.
+ Strong communication skills.
+ Experience with technical and project/business management of Supplier/Partner relationships.

The Engine Design & Systems Integration (EDSI) organization is responsible for the integration of components, modules, and sub-systems into world class commercial and military propulsion systems.
The Engine Design Systems Integration (EDSI) Mature Commercial Engines (MCE) team is frontline keeping the legacy commercial, industrial and military transport / tanker fleets operating safely. EDSI MCE system engineering lead prime mission is to ensure fleet wide safety, customer satisfaction, reliability, maintainability while driving a profitable business result.
Pratt & Whitney Controls & Diagnostic Systems (CDS) is a dynamic engineering organization focused on the development and certification of military, commercial and industrial gas turbine engine control and diagnostic systems. CDS is responsible for all aspects of Pratt & Whitney engine control and diagnostic system development including requirements analysis & definition, system & software architecture, algorithm design, and product software design, verification & validation. We integrate the control and diagnostic system design across other engine system modules and with the air vehicles and provide support throughout the complete engine product life cycle.

This role is:
**Onsite** : Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance workers, as they are essential to the development of our engines.
Candidates will learn more about role type and current site status throughout the recruiting process. For onsite and hybrid roles, commuting to and from the assigned site is the employee’s personal responsibility.
The salary range for this role is 124,000 USD - 250,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
