    The CIT Program is seeking a qualified DevOps Engineer candidate to design, build, and deploy highly scalable, resilient, performant cloud micro-services. The successful candidate will work in an integrated team to improve the Sponsor’s DevOps posture, automating repetitive tasks, reducing manual intervention, and improving the overall user experience, quality, and reliability of software products.

    The following knowledge, skills, and abilities are required for the DevOps Engineer:

    • A degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering. A scientific or technical discipline related to the specific skill will be considered, equivalent to five (5) years of specialized experience.

    • Demonstrated hands-on experience with distributed cross-platform applications, orchestration, and security.

    • Three (3) years of experience developing micro-services on AWS platform services such as API Gateway, Lambda, ECS, SQS, S3, EC2, RDS, Lambdas, SNS, Secrets Manager, KMS, ECR, EKS or Kinesis.

    • Demonstrated experience working with Agile software development, using Jira or other tracking software.

    • Demonstrated experience with DevOps practices, such as Infrastructure as Code, and continuous integration and automated deployment.

    • Excellent knowledge and demonstrated experience in software quality process/assurance including automation testing, unit/integration testing, design/code review, code profiling and software CI/CD pipelines.

    • Minimum of five (5) years of experience using RESTful APIs or software development in a cloud environment.

    • Demonstrated advanced product knowledge and demonstrated experience with Java and one of more scripting languages (e.g. Servlets, Hibernate, Spring, UI Frameworks, Web Services/REST, J2EE).

    • Advanced product knowledge and demonstrated experience with NoSQL and/or file-based storage (MongoDB, MS SQL Server, Oracle, Postgres, etc.)

    • Demonstrated experience with continuous integration/delivery tools (e.g. Git, Jenkins, Puppet, Ansible, Terraform, etc.) or hands-on experience with distributed cross-platform applications, orchestration and security.

    • Working knowledge and demonstrated experience with data analysis methodology.

    • Demonstrated experience in client-side technologies (Java, Swing, EXT JS, JSP/HTML).

    • Demonstrated experience in Windows and Linux operating systems.

    • Demonstrated experience in Web server technologies (e.g. Tomcat, Web Logic, IIS, HTTPCore).

    • Demonstrated knowledge of DevOps, Release engineering and Operations approach to automate deployments.

    • Demonstrated experience working in a dynamic working environment.

    • Proven experience across Systems Engineering, DevSecOps, or Platform Engineering.

    • Experience with containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Podman).

    • Experience with monitoring tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, or ELK, Alert Manager.

    Desired Qualifications:

    • Experience as a backend or full stack software developer.

    • Experience with Elasticsearch & MongoDB is a plus.

    • Experience with source code and version repository.

    • Deep technical understanding of Cloud architecture.

    • Experience configuring and maintaining SonarQube.

    • Demonstrated experience with Java, Spring Framework, Gradle / Maven.

    • Hands-on experience creating Kubernetes clusters for production environments.

    • Experience using Helm as package management for deploying microservices. • Proficient with CNCF technologies such as Keycloak.

    • Experience with GitOps based deployments using Argo is a plus.

    • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

    • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure.

    **Pay Range** : There are a host of factors that can influence final salary including, but not limited to, geographic location, Federal Government contract labor categories and contract wage rates, relevant prior work experience, specific skills and competencies, education, and certifications.     The proposed salary range for this position is:

    $94,400 - $198,300
