Job Purpose:
To coordinate the purchase of products and materials, conduct market research to determine where to find the best quality materials and products for the best prices. To build relationships with vendors in order to ensure the organization always has a source for necessary products. Purchasing Assistance also handle administrative duties related to purchasing including tracking orders and ensuring records are kept up to date. May also assist the Facility Manager with administrative duties.

Key Job Elements:
• Monitor stock levels and identify purchasing needs;
• Research potential vendors;
• Track orders and ensure timely delivery;
• Update internal databases with order details;
• Maintain updated records of invoices and contracts;
• Follow up with suppliers, as needed, to confirm or
change orders;
• Prepare various daily, weekly and monthly reports;

Essential and Physical Activities Functions
• Strength – Position typically involves work in an industrial environment. Frequent standing, sitting, and walking. Work level ranges from light to occasional very heavy-level lifting (50+ pounds);
• Motion – Position regularly requires standard motions associated with leading and demonstrating in an industrial environment. Occasional lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, and handling;
• Vision/Hearing Requirements – Constant verbal communications, including both talking and hearing;
• Work Environment – Position is Safety Sensitive and will require the use of Personal Protective Equipment. Position may involve work in a non-temperature-controlled environment. Position is located in an industrial environment, including frequent potential for noise (85+ decibels), exposure to extreme temperatures, exposure to hazardous materials, heavy equipment, atmospheric exposure, and other hazardous working conditions;
• Emotional Demands – High level of responsibility. Responsible for supervision of the maintenance mission. Requires significant interpersonal skills while sustaining very high standards;
• Safety – Position is Safety sensitive and will require the use of Personal Protective Equipment.
