    Job Summary

    Morrison Healthcare is seeking an experienced and passionate Executive Chef to lead kitchen operations at a 300-bed acute care hospital in New York, NY. This role is perfect for an energetic, entrepreneurial culinary professional with a strong background in healthcare and retail foodservice. The Executive Chef will report to the Director of Food Services and oversee both patient dining and retail food operations.

    Key Responsibilities

    + Plan, prepare, and execute regular and modified patient and retail menus based on established nutrition and culinary guidelines

    + Ensure food quality, portion control, and presentation meet company standards

    + Train and supervise kitchen staff in food preparation, safety, equipment use, and sanitation

    + Maintain kitchen cleanliness and oversee maintenance schedules for all foodservice equipment

    + Manage food and non-food inventory to align with budget and ensure product availability

    + Implement and monitor compliance with federal, state, and local health regulations

    + Optimize the use of leftover food products in compliance with company policies

    + Participate in staff development, departmental meetings, and continuous improvement efforts

    + Maintain documentation such as production logs, waste sheets, and audits

    + Champion safety policies and procedures across kitchen operations

    Preferred Qualifications

    + Associate’s degree in Culinary Arts or equivalent hands-on experience

    + 3-5+ years of progressive kitchen or culinary management experience

    + Strong hands-on culinary skills in institutional or high-volume settings

    + Extensive catering experience a plus

    + Experience in healthcare foodservice highly preferred

    + Knowledge of food trends, sanitation standards, food cost control, and menu engineering

    + Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), Outlook, and internet-based tools

    + ServSafe Certification strongly preferred
