This position is eligible for telework to applicants who reside in Minnesota or a bordering county along the Minnesota state line. Effective June 1, employees living within 75 miles of the office location listed above will be required to work in the office at least 50% of the time each month. For those who live 75 or more miles away, with supervisory approval and satisfactory performance are eligible to telework up to 100% of the time.

Position is responsible for managing the strategic goals and funding informed by the recommendations and providing leadership for all activities of the Age-Friendly MN Council (“the Council”), which includes efforts to:
+ Advance age-friendly policies and programs, including guiding and coordinating state agencies and supporting local governments;
+ Manage equity-informed community grant awards to dozens of local and tribal communities seeking to become age-friendly; and
+ Coordinate development of reforms to the emergency preparedness response system to ensure better future protections for older adults, communities and families experiencing disasters
Minimum Qualifications
Demonstrated leadership experience*
*Leadership experience can include:
+ Experience as a supervisor, leadworker, team lead, project lead;
+ Completion of a State of Minnesota leadership program (e.g. ELI, L4);
+ A paid/unpaid position leading a program or chairing a committee (e.g. ERG) - experience must include:
+ 1+ year of experience identifying issues, goals and strategic actions
+ 100+ hours per year time commitment
AND
4 years of specialized professional work experience in application of concepts and principles of planning, program and policy development. Experience must include the following:
+ Knowledge ofand experience with concepts of Age-Friendly ecosystem including planning, program and policy development;
+ Comprehensive understanding, knowledge, skills and experience in the application of concepts and methods of group facilitation
+ Experience and ability to analyze, evaluate, and synthesize, and to speak and write clearly about issues, policies and their implications to state government and the public
+ Experience in designing work plans for large studies or projects
Preferred Qualifications
+ Experience and ability to manage and lead projects and teams
+ Knowledge of federal and state laws, policies, agencies and service delivery systems impacting older persons
+ Solid organizing and prioritizing ability
+ Experience and ability to manage and lead projects and teams
