The Role
The Network Implementation Engineer II, ISP (Inside Plant) Engineer responsibilities include design and preparation of Engineering Work Orders and network design for equipment installation, new and existing buildings, single line requests, DSL, FTTN, FTTH, FTTT, WDM, PON technology deployment, augmentation projects and bandwidth expansion for ERPS and ROADM networks. Utilizing the following tools; NDS, AutoCAD, Visio, Fireworks/Bidmaster, JDS, WFMT, WMS, ARMOR, TIRKS, SITETRACKER, NBIE, NMADB and the full suite of Microsoft Office 365. As an ISP engineer you will be assigned a geographic area and will be responsible for all ISP function requests in the Access network space. This position designs and provides complete scope of work for network equipment implementation to facilitate service delivery and network growth. Maintain positive interaction with Internal and External customers; maintain open conversation with Planning, Outside Plant Engineering teams and all company departments providing high quality of service to the Lumen customers. Manage workload for a given area.
The Main Responsibilities
+ Develops/defines/augments plans for the implementation of new or modification to existing network elements and transport architectures.
+ Understand routing and switching circuit topologies.
+ Prepares plans and specifications, to include gathering field data and determine best economical design strategy.
+ Assures that the most feasible, practical and economical means to complete the work are utilized. Provides cost data to support capital planning and budgeting.
+ Monitors and controls project expenditures and implementation timelines.
+ Oversees the installation and testing of network devices within the network infrastructure.
+ Skilled in planning and/or engineering.
+ Analyzes local and wide area network systems and/or customer network environment, including planning, designing, evaluating, selecting applicable operating systems and protocol suites and configuring communication networks elements and other related devices.
+ Resolves interoperability problems to obtain operations across all platforms including e-mail, files transfer, multimedia and the like.
+ Configures systems to user environments.
+ Supports acquisition and implementation of hardware and software as well as subcontractor services as needed
What We Look For in a Candidate
Required
+ Bachelors in Engineering or equivalent education and relevant experience.
+ 8 years related experience in telecommunications, engineering, or network planning or equivalent.
+ Knowledgeable and able to work in appropriate systems and Microsoft Office suite.
+ Fluent on current approved products and technology.
+ Work with Planning, Operations and all internal and external customers, maintain budget, and assist with forecasting budgets.
+ Maintain positive interaction between all governing authorities
+ Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Compensation
This information reflects the anticipated base salary range for this position based on current national data. Minimums and maximums may vary based on location. Individual pay is based on skills, experience and other relevant factors.
Location Based Pay Ranges:
$63,400 - $84,500 in these states: FL
