Role Purpose
The Manager, Contract Life Cycle will support and manage the implementation, operation, and efficiency, of the contracting process at BJC, including managing the web-based contract lifecycle management (CLM) application selected by BJC. This application will be used to initiate and organize all contracting from the initial business request, through negotiation and execution, and finally into permanent retention and ongoing management. The Contract Life Cycle Manager will work with cross-functional groups (including Supply Chain, Legal Services, IT and other BJC departments), to help drive BJC’s efforts to centralize and automate contracting activities at BJC, thereby achieving efficiencies, reducing costs, and establishing best practices, including setting appropriate performance metrics and benchmarks. The role will support the overall contract process including the identification of all key stakeholders, resource mapping, process development and improvement, and will provide training and ongoing support to BJC personnel regarding the CLM application and applicable contracting policies and procedures and improving the flow of contracts throughout the lifecycle.
Responsibilities
+ Manages individual(s) including but not limited to: onboarding and hiring, training, workload management & performance evaluations, conducting professional development plans as needed. Ensures that the productivity and actions of that group meet/support the overall operational goals of the department as established by department leadership.
+ Develops and adheres to departmental staffing, revenue and/or expense budgets. Responds to changes in the business which may affect the ability to achieve the budget goals.
+ Manage and support the introduction, implementation and ongoing operation of the CLM application, including implementation of developed of legal playbooks and operational process workflows, training end-users at all levels, including executives, while providing timely guidance and support on questions regarding the appropriate and effective use of the CLM application.
+ Manage the efficiency of BJC’s contract process, through the development and utilization of operational metrics. Responsible for the creation of operational processes to streamline BJC’s contracting efforts. Additionally, the Contract Life Cycle Manager will create rules and logic to automate and streamline the administration of contract management. The Contract Life Cycle Manager will have a primary reporting relationship to Contract Life Cycle Director (Supply Chain).
+ Manage and maintain the resource mapping across multiple departments (Supply Chain, Legal, IT, etc.), including coordinating interfaces between CLM application and other IT-based platforms, such as PeopleSoft and ServiceNow.
+ Successfully manage the operational efficiency of the BJC contract process. Manage and prepare contract reports as needed for due diligence, audits, surveys, etc.; assist in responding to requests involving production of contracts or applicable metadata.
+ Manage the process for triaging incoming contract requests, as necessary, and serve as the emergency contact for process related problem solving; also serve as the first point of contact for the functional teams and route as appropriate in connection with the CLM application. Supervise and as needed, participate in the negotiation process to ensure efficiencies and quality level across all contracts.
