Where You’ll Work

This position is based in our Lenexa, KS office. We leverage a hybrid working model working three days in the office, two days optional remote work.

What You’ll Do

The Data Visualization Developer will work closely with Analytics and IT teams to translate complex data sets into creative, easy to understand visualizations that enhance decision-making for member hospitals, focusing on improved outcomes for children’s health. This individual will leverage their appreciation for the art of visual design as a communication tool and understand the impact that engaging visualizations can have on audiences, providing visually apparent actionable insights.

+ Develop, maintain, and manage advanced reporting, analytics, dashboards, AI tools, and other BI solutions.

+ Apply best practices and continuously improving UX/UI and dashboard optimization.

+ Perform and document data analysis, data validation, and data mapping/design.

+ Conduct unit tests and develop database queries to analyze the effects and troubleshoot any issues.

+ Plan and facilitate project meetings, prepare and deliver presentations, and work with cross-functional teams to meet project timeframes and quality requirements.

+ Present data in an easy to consume and understandable way, understanding best delivery options based on audience.

+ Analyze the requirements of the client or business and act as functional liaison between IT and business.

+ Serve as high-level subject matter expert in Tableau, Business Objects and other data visualization products, resolving support tickets related to Tableau and Business Objects.

+ Prepare data and perform data modeling using SQL for use by Tableau or other BI tools.

+ Develop and maintain relationships with vendors and internal teams to ensure the highest quality stable environment while meeting users’ expected outcomes.

+ Collaborate with stakeholders and team members to iterate, refine, document, and share visualizations based on feedback.

Required Experience:

What You’ll Bring to CHA

Any combination of education and experience providing the required skill and knowledge is qualifying:

+ Bachelor’s degree in STEM related fields; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

+ 2+ years Tableau development skills with proven experience in developing and working with Tableau-driven dashboards and analytics.

+ A solid understanding of SQL, rational databases, and normalization.

+ Ability to query and display large data sets while maximizing the performance of workbook.

+ Ability to interpret technical or dashboard structure and translate complex business requirements to technical specifications.

+ Excellent interpersonal, communication, and time management skills.

+ Thrives in a culture that values curiosity and feedback—where sharing knowledge and growing together is part of the everyday workflow.

+ Demonstrates a strong commitment to continuous learning, staying current with emerging tools, technologies, and best practices in data visualization and analytics.

Preferred Experience:

+ Experience using Figma, or other mockup design tools is a plus.

+ Business Objects experience is a plus.

+ Healthcare data experience is a plus.

This pay range shown is a guideline. Min: $80,000 Max: $160,000 Compensation is based on factors such as qualifications, skill level, and competencies; compensation is based on the role's location and is subject to change based on work location.
