Job Summary
Troubleshoots, repairs, and maintains advanced computer related equipment such as PC, monitors, printers, and other attached devices. Assist in installing, diagnosing, repairing, and upgrading minor hardware equipment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
+ Performs advanced troubleshooting, repairs, and maintaining computer related equipment such as PC, monitors, printers, and other attached devices.
+ Work with vendor tech support when needed to solve issues/receive warranty support or replacement.
+ Perform hardware/software installations & upgrades for users.
+ Assist users with day to day problems such as locked out accounts, resetting passwords, printing trouble, giving directions.
+ Make network patch cables and activate needed connections.
+ Request quotes for equipment, software, consumables, and place orders to ensure items are added to inventory.
+ Assist in phone moves and name changes on the phone system.
+ Ensure all documentation/forms are kept current and submitted to local inventory manager as needed.
+ Manage the process for items slated to go to surplus.
+ Utilize parts from a similar machine, remove/format hard drives, fill out all required paperwork and see the process through to get the equipment to surplus receiving.
+ Provides project status reports.
+ Maintain documentation manual with current information on hardware, software, and service agreements for core network services.
+ Maintain documentation for user account creation/deletion for local services.
+ Maintain current software licensing documentation.
+ Maintain current documentation of network layout, building maps, etc.
+ Maintain databases on local shared drive for resource scheduling and travel.
+ Maintain employee information on local shared drive, website, and online employee directory.
+ Coordinates Video Conferencing and Video and Projection Equipment in Meeting Rooms. Maintain teleconference documentation for proper payment of phone charges.

Additional Responsibilities
+ Research technical issues and recommend appropriate solutions or referrals for customers.
+ Guide / assist other technical staff with consultative services and support for customers enforcing computing security policies and procedure using common software and hardware applications.
+ Support OIT directors with the daily operation of the department (i.e. inventory control, memos, reports, purchase requisitions, etc.).
Minimum Requirements
+ Education – Associates Degree in Applied Science in Computer Information Systems or related field.
+ Experience – Three years of related experience.
+ An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
Preferred Education and Experience
+ Computing Technology Industry Association (CompTIA) certification in A+ or Network+.

Supervision of Others
Works under general direction and generally has limited training to junior Computer Maintenance Technicians and limited supervision of Student Workers.
Other Requirements
+ Evening and weekend work may occasionally be required.
+ Position requires on campus, face-to-face interactions.
+ Position requires maintaining a regular schedule of attendance on campus and in the workplace.
Salary: $20.08/hourly
