Position Summary:
We are seeking a creative, detail-oriented, and motivated Communications Intern to support both internal and external communications strategies for Everon’s communications department as a leading commercial security provider. This role is for a student or recent graduate interested in corporate communications and offers hands-on experience in content creation for internal and other executive-level communications, internal/external communications campaign development, public relations support, developing SEO-driven and industry-leading thought leadership content, and helping to drive employee culture initiatives and incentive programs. The ideal candidate is a strong writer, self-driven, and eager to learn about the various aspects of a leading organizational communications program in the commercial security industry. You’ll have the opportunity to assist in creating compelling content that highlights Everon’s various solutions and services, reinforces our brand messaging, increases awareness to our offerings, and engages both customers and our employees.
Position Details:
+ Internship will begin in May 2025 (Finals are taken into consideration to accommodate start date)
+ Internship length: 120 days
+ Hours: Part-time, up to 20 hours a week
+ Hybrid Internship local to the **_Chicago, IL_** area.
+ Primarily working remotely with occasional in-person office days (once a week) and events at Romeoville location.
Duties and Responsibilities:
+ Assist in drafting and editing content for newsletters, press releases, SEO-driven website content, thought leadership features, and social media posts.
+ Support the planning and logistical implementation of communication campaigns and events.
+ Compile media lists for press distributions.
+ Monitor media coverage and compile earned media reports.
+ Help maintain and update employee contact lists and communications calendars.
+ Participate in brainstorming sessions and contribute creative ideas to connect the Everon story with our employee base, industry peers, and customers.
+ Collaborate with executive and internal leaders across departments to gather information and ensure consistent, quality, and clear messaging – in support of both internal and external communications needs.
+ Support the team with administrative tasks and other duties as assigned.
_Qualifications - External_
Education/Certification:
+ Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in Communications, English/Literature, Creative Writing/Rhetoric, Journalism, or related field.
+ Experience with an email building platform such as Pardot, Knak, Stensul,Poppulo, Constant Contact, MailChimp, Hubspot is a plus but not required.
Qualifications & Experience:
+ Candidate must have willingness to learn about different aspects of the organization and within the marketing team’s scope
+ Excellent creative, communication, and critical thinking skills
+ Strong writer with firm grasp on grammatical concepts
+ Ability to effectively work together with executive leaders, marketers, product managers, and sales teams alike
+ Candidate must have an entrepreneurial and self-starting mentality
+ Candidate must be organized, driven, and a fast learner
