Job Summary and Qualifications

Manages all aspects of the scheduling of procedures for all Imaging Services and Cath Lab. Works in a high volume call center, with expectations of ability to maintain expected services efficiently. Manages all aspects of appointment setting, reschedules, cancellations, etc. Under the direction of the Scheduling Supervisor, works as part of a team, and with all expectations thereof including communication between peers, adherence to established guidelines and procedures, and within all regulatory compliance guidelines, i.e., HIPPA, IT, etc. Represents HCA and NC as the point of contact for all incoming requests for procedures. Relays information via outgoing calls to multiple customers, physicians, offices, modalities, and patients. Accurately inputs data into the Scheduling module of Meditech and ensures any required documentation is available in the designated locations. Continuously communicates via phone, e mail, fax, and through the appointment notes, all information required for appointments including but not limited to: insurance information, patient demographics, orders, diagnosis, contraindications, appointment times, appointment information, special notes, etc.

+ Takes an active interest and asks “how may I help you? “Perceived as helpful.

+ Performs and maintains an unsurpassed level of polite and courteous customer service communication to patients, physicians and physicians’ staff as a first line representative of NC.

+ Utilizes all available resources to complete required tasks.

+ Completes follow up on all requests to ensure closure of all tasks.

+ Schedules both outgoing and incoming patient/physician calls in accordance with the HIPPA Regulation Guidelines

+ Conducts job duties in accordance with established hospital and departmental policy and standards.

+ Demonstrates accurate knowledge of relevant policies, procedures and standards.

+ Ensures quality of work performed with regard to accuracy, thoroughness, and understanding of the needs of the recipients.

+ Understands Scheduling concept and appointment setting for Clinical modalities.

+ Proficient in management of phone, fax, and PC functions.

+ Accepts and applies education related to terminology, definitions, and basic functionality of Imaging Services.

+ Navigates effectively through Scheduling Module, understands locations, resources and procedure dictionaries.

+ Adheres to built in prompts and instructions.

What qualifications you will need:

+ High School Graduate / GED

+ Computer literate, some Radiology Scheduling or prior scheduling experience in a clinical environment
