Job Summary and Qualifications

The Director of Sterile Processing Informatics is a newly created position to ensure data integrity and consistent standardization from field sterile processing operations and systems. This position will contribute to the development of standards (HCA Sterile Processing playbook) in collaboration with PI, CSG and HealthTrust, and will ensure standards are consistently applied throughout the organization through development of reporting.

The DDSPO leads facility Sterile Processing leaders to implement, measure and direct Sterile Processing operations to ensure consistent, standardized service excellence to Surgical Services. Initially, this work will be focused on pilot facilities, proving the concept before expansion across the HCA enterprise

This position guides the maintenance of strategic and operational plans at a divisional level, monitoring and reporting monthly performance against the plans. This position ensures the integrity of data feeds and operational metrics.

The DDSPO will contribute to the development of advanced capabilities (e.g., predictive analytics).

What you will do in this role includes:

+ Contributes to the development of strategic and operational plans (including the HCA Sterile Processing playbook) for Sterile Processing operations.

+ Maintains mechanisms to monitor hospital-based Sterile Processing operations against the HCA standards.

+ Collaborates with key stakeholders to ensure the integrity of the data and effectiveness of systems and operational procedures.

+ Assists with operational and systems education as necessary.

+ Works closely with Project Management and Clinical Education to ensure sustained success of process improvements at the division level.

+ May be requested to provide division support to multiple divisions.

+ Contributes to policies and procedures, and ensures compliance.

+ Understands and champions the clinical agenda through collaboration with key division and facility stakeholders.

+ Regularly reviews performance data and metrics to identify opportunities for improvement for the division, and makes recommendations to key division and facility stakeholders

+ Routinely communicates with stakeholders at all levels in HCA

+ Maintains and emphasis on cost management and service excellence in the divisions and facilities

+ Identifies and promotes opportunities to leverage existing Supply Chain Surgical Services and Equipment Management teams

+ Fosters a culture of service excellence and teamwork

+ Proficient in the use of Excel, PowerPoint, and Word, with proven communication skills

+ Leverages various feedback mechanisms to benchmark performance and identify opportunities for improved customer service

+ Provide guidance and support to on-site facility Sterile Processing leaders, including coaching and developing talent across the division

+ Facilitate cross-site collaboration and knowledge sharing to drive innovation and operations excellence

+ Assist with facility audits and readiness for accreditation surveys

What qualifications you will need:

+ Bachelors Degree in Health Administration, Business Management or equivalent - Required

+ Master’s Degree - Preferred

+ 3+ years relevant healthcare experience (clinical, sterile processing, OR, Supply Chain, etc.) - Preferred

+ Specific Sterile Processing, OR, Supply Chain leadership experience - Preferred

+ Sterile Processing Certification - Preferred

+ Certified Surgical Technician - Preferred
