Job Summary and Qualifications
Provides direct day to day supervision for Tucker Pavilion, Intake and Admission, Activities Therapy and Care Management Services.
Behavioral Health data collection of volumes and referral sources, monitor trends with monthly report to Tucker Pavilion Quality Management.
Develops and implements policies and procedures that guide and support the provision of behavioral health services
Recommends a sufficient number of qualified and competent persons to provide behavioral health care and provides for appropriate departmental orientation, ongoing verification of competencies, opportunities for continuing education, appropriate supervision, ongoing and yearly evaluation of performance and timely identification and correction of performance issues.
Works collaboratively with administration and fiscal services to develop operational and capital budgets for Behavioral Health Services and is responsible for meeting budgets through ongoing monitoring of performance against budgeted targets and adjusting use of resources as indicated to meet budgeted targets.
Coordinates and directs behavioral health services’ activities related to TJC, DMHMRSA, CMS and other regulatory agencies to promote compliance with all standards and/or to address and resolve any deficiencies. Works collaboratively with Administration, Risk Management, Quality Management and Behavioral Health Nursing in coordinating risk and quality management activities. Facilitates handling of patient/family/staff concerns.
Provides for continual assessment and improvement of Behavioral Health Services’ performance in relation to current and projected budgets and market influences. Works collaboratively with administration in strategic planning activities.
Implements and coordinates the Quality Improvement processes for Behavioral Health Services.
Assesses needs and provides for continuing staff education.
Keeps current on 3rd party payor issues and maintains effective working relationships
Represents Tucker Pavilion on hospital and/or market committees or tasks forces and maintains positive and effective working relationships with other hospital departments, medical staff and referral sources.
EXPERIENCE
Required: Minimum 5 years acute care psychiatric/CD clinical and management experience with minimum of 5 years healthcare administrative experience.
EDUCATION
Required: Master’s degree in Social Work, Behavioral Health or Administration required.
LICENSURE
Required: Licensed, or eligible for licensure, in the state of Virginia, as a social worker, preferably a LCSW
