Job Description

A major entertainment client is looking for a Software Engineer with expertise in modern WordPress development, containerized environments, AWS infrastructure, solution architecture, and agile collaboration to join a team within their enterprise technology organization.

Responsibilities:

• Modern WordPress Development:

• Develop and maintain custom WordPress themes and plugins using PHP.

• Utilize Gutenberg, React, jQuery, and NodeJS for advanced functionality.

• Implement and consume REST APIs.

• Manage dependencies using NPM, Composer, and Packagist.

• Containerized Environments:

• Use Docker for local development and deployment.

• Implement GitLab CI/CD pipelines for automated testing and releases.

• AWS Infrastructure:

• Design scalable and secure systems with full lifecycle ownership from requirements through deployment.

• Apply agile methodologies to manage the software development lifecycle.

• Agile Collaboration:

• Participate in sprint planning, backlog grooming, and documentation.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams using Jira, Confluence, Teams, and ServiceNow.

Skills and Requirements

Modern WordPress Dev: Deep PHP skills with custom themes/plugins (Gutenberg, React, jQuery, NodeJS), REST API use, and NPM/Composer/Packagist for dependency management

Containerized Environments: Docker for local dev and deployment; GitLab CI/CD for automated testing and releases

AWS Infrastructure: Proficiency with EC2, S3, RDS, CloudFront, CloudWatch, and secure cloud architecture

Solution Architecture & SDLC: Designing scalable, secure systems with full lifecycle ownershiprequirements through deploymentusing agile methods

Agile Collaboration: Sprint planning, backlog grooming, and documentation using Jira, Confluence, Teams, and ServiceNow to support cross-functional teams Previous work history includes experience in a complex, large technology company environment

Self-managing; self-starter with a high level of initiative; strong sense of ownership and urgency null
