    Job Description

    This role combines skills in engineering, design, and programming for automation projects in water/wastewater, material handling, or life sciences. You will handle everything from creating project documentation and designing control panels to programming PLCs, configuring visualization systems, selecting field devices, and leading startup and commissioningall within strict project specifications.

    Key Responsibilities:

    Design control panels that meet UL 508A/698 standards, including:

    - Power distribution (120/480VAC)

     

    - Input/output (I/O) assignments

     

    - Wiring/loop diagrams

     

    - Panel layouts

     

    - Component selection

     

    - Bill of Materials (BoM) creation

     

    - Material procurement

     

    - Load and thermal calculations

     

    - Short Circuit Current Rating (SCCR) calculations

     

    Choose appropriate field devices and prepare data sheets per project needs.

     

    Create single-line and three-line electrical diagrams.

     

    Coordinate with panel fabrication vendors during control panel manufacturing.

     

    Develop, review, and approve both unwitnessed and witnessed Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT).

    Lead the software development process, including:

    - Configuring I/O and communication networks

     

    - Creating control and network diagrams (PLC/DCS/HMI)

     

    - Building device address databases

     

    - Developing reusable, modular control logic

     

    - Documenting logic thoroughly

     

    - Organizing programs for clarity and ease of troubleshooting

     

    - Implementing system security and remote access

     

    - Ensuring device networking and integration with vendor equipment

     

    Collaborate with project stakeholders to design and present control systems that meet contract requirements and system functions.

     

    Prepare submittals for client approval, including control panel designs, software logic, control strategies, and testing procedures.

     

    Conduct testing and commissioning of control systems as part of project teams, ensuring compliance with industry standards.

     

    Train customer personnel on operation and maintenance of the control system.

    Skills and Requirements

     

    - 5+ years of experience in design/control system programming in water/wastewater, material handling, and/or life sciences industries.

     

    - Proficiency in the design and programming of Rockwell Automation PLC/visualization platforms. - PlantPAx and RA legacy systems

     

    - Proficiency in the design and programming of AVEVA System Platform.

     

    - Proficiency in design and programming of Schneider Electric PLC/visualization platforms.

     

    - B.S. degree in engineering/computer science. null
