    Description

    Amazon is seeking a Senior Internal Auditor to join our Amazon Web Services (AWS) audit team. This is a high visibility opportunity to make important improvements throughout our Cloud Computing business. Our primary mission is to perform independent and objective assessments of business activities and related controls with the goal of improving operations (effectiveness, efficiency, customer experience, security, scalability, and continuity); compliance with laws, regulations and company policies; risk management; and the overall system of internal controls.

     

    This position may require up to 20% travel, including some international travel.

     

    Key job responsibilities

     

    - You will lead audits across AWS that include conducting end-to-end financial, operational, and compliance audits for all areas which support the AWS business.

     

    - You will leverage large data sets to support your audits and provide valuable insights to the business as a result of each project.

     

    - You will provide consultative support to business partners to identify opportunities for control improvements with the objective of mitigating risk and improving compliance and operational performance. In this capacity, you will gain valuable exposure to many areas within our global business.

     

    - You will lead people, direct meetings, and be a champion for positive change. You must be able to work independently and remain flexible, with the ability to prioritize workloads and maintain a strong attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.

     

    - You will dive deep into the details to develop meaningful findings and help drive solutions.

     

    - You must be able to understand complex business processes and identify the full range of risks related to processes, compliance, organizations, and technology.

     

    - You must have good analytical skills, solid business judgment, a strong controllership focus, and the capability to drive the right results with a focused and pragmatic approach.

    Basic Qualifications

    - Bachelor's degree or equivalent

     

    - 4+ years of compliance program management, legal, governance, audit, risk/loss prevention, or equivalent experience

     

    - Experience handling confidential information

    Preferred Qualifications

    - 3+ years of program requirements definition and data and metrics leveraging to drive improvements experience

     

    - Professional auditing qualification, or similar risk or compliance credentials

     

    - Experience with SQL and Excel

    Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $66,800/year in our lowest geographic market up to $142,800/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
