    Northrop Grumman Space Sector is seeking a **Staff Ground Systems Lead Engineer** to support Tactical Space Systems Division in their development, integration, deployment, and sustainment of satellite ground software. This position is located onsite on our **Dulles, VA** campus.

     

    This position requires being onsite and does not support remote work.

    Duties/Responsibilities:

    + Provide hands on technical leadership and guidance to program team, ensuring alignment with project goals and industry best practices.

    + System requirements decomposition and RVTM (Requirements Verification Traceability Matrix) development

    + Ground System architecture design

    + Ownership and development of the Ground Software roadmap

    + Integration and test efforts supporting requirements sell-off

    + Collaborate with product owners to prioritize features and deliverables.

    + Interface with customer(s) internal and external

    + Lead will be expected to be a self-starter capable of making decisions with overall project budget and schedule in mind

    + Configuration of ground segment software

    + Software Enhancements as directed by customer change requests or mission needs

    + Support the installation of new ground segment software in operational, development and test environments

    + Experience working across organization boundaries to achieve success

    Basic Qualifications:

    + A Bachelors degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Math) field with 12 years of experience or a Masters with 10 years of experience

    + Demonstrated software development & systems engineering experience

    + Demonstrated experience in technical problem solving, to include decomposition, root cause analysis, solution development, implementation, and monitoring

    + Significant experience with designing, building, and deploying of software products

    + **Must have US Citizenship with active or current DoD Top Secret/SCI Clearance at time of application.**

    Preferred Qualifications:

    + Experience developing satellite ground software with any of the following applications for spacecraft missions

    + Experienced with Atlassian tools (JIRA, Confluence, Bitbucket)

    + Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment

     

    Salary Range: $171,000.00 - $256,400.00

     

    The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

     

    Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
