    Assistant Transit Management Analyst I: $67,933 - $ 80,42 1 (TA)

     

    Assistant Transit Management Analyst II: $78,874 - $87,847 (TA)

     

    Associate Transit Management Analyst : $ 89,162 - $115,445 (TA)

    Responsibilities:

    Transit Management Analyst Series:

    The analyst will play a critical role in supporting the Supervisor and Director in responding to complex, confidential and time sensitive executive inquiries. The analyst will prepare complex reports and presentations for Dept. of Subways Vice Presidents and Chiefs. The analyst will assist in new Employee Availability initiatives. The chosen candidate will aid in the efforts to reduce lost time days which is sanctioned at the highest levels within the Dept. of Subways, Law, Labor relations and OHS. The analyst may be required to attend senior Subway Safety meetings and is tasked with assisting and presenting data regarding IOD. The analyst will eventually be responsible for maintenance and updating of the Subways IOD dbase which tracks both historical data and current claims for all employees in Dept . of Subways. The dbase is shared and utilized across all divisions of Dept . of Subways, Law Department and System Safety. Without proper and daily updating of the database, the accuracy and status of current employees who are absent due to IOD would NOT be possible. Daily responsibilities include interacting with the union and operating departments and facilitating the employee’s returning to work from injury on Duty (IOD). The analyst will be trained and progressively become the liaison senior management would contact to obtain and generate data which correctly reflects the status of employee availability objectives in the Department of Subways.

    Education and Experience:

    Assistant Transit Management Analyst I and II:

    + A master's degree from an accredited college or university in business administration,

     

    public administration, public policy, engineering, engineering technology, economics,

     

    architecture, mathematics, physics, computer science, finance, accounting,

     

    transportation planning, industrial psychology, urban planning/studies, human

     

    resources management, labor relations, operations research, security management

    or in a related area, or

    + A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university and two years of

     

    satisfactory full-time professional experience working in budget administration,

     

    accounting, economic or financial administration, engineering, in management or

     

    methods of analysis, operations research, organization research or program

     

    evaluation, personnel or public administration, staff development, employment

     

    program planning or administration, security management; or general administration.

    Associate Transit Management Analyst:

    + A master's degree from an accredited college in business administration, public administration, public policy, engineering, engineering technology, economics, architecture, mathematics, physics, computer science, finance, accounting, transportation planning, industrial psychology, urban planning/studies, human resources management, labor relations, operations research, security management or in a related area, and two years of full-time satisfactory professional experience in the collection, evaluation and use of data relating to operational procedures, administrative systems, equipment and space utilization, and staffing requirements, including the preparation of charts, graphs, drawings and technical reports. One year of experience must have been in the transportation industry; or

    + A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college in one of the areas listed in "1" above; and three years of full-time satisfactory experience as described in "1" above. One year of this experience must have been in the transportation industry.

    Desired Skills:

    + Strong communication skills.

    + Proficiency in the use Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat Pro, Tableau, Power BI applications.

    + Strong writing, research, and interpretation skills.

    + Ability to function independently with limited work direction.

    + Strong analytical and quantitative abilities.

    + Knowledge of ATS and UTS timekeeping payroll systems

    + NYCT Rules and regulations

    + Knowledge of the Organizational structure of the Department of Subways

    Selection Method:

    Based on evaluation of education, skills, experience, and interview.

     

    All appointments, with the exception of the Department of Subways employees on MABSTOA payroll, will be made on the NYCT payroll.
